1st time owning a camaro
Today is my first time buying a camaro. i bought a 1998 camaro for $550. only bad thing is that it needs tags. but back to my point lol i was wondering if yall can help me buy giving me any info or tips yall think i should know. i also wanted to know recomendations for where to buy parts from,becuase im already looking for an intake and headers.Thanks in advance!https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/ima...lies/smile.gif

As you can see, not a lot of V6 owners remaining on the site.
The 3,8L V6 is notorious for coolant leaks in the 2-part intake manifold. Check that before doing anything.

My first Camaro was a '96 3.8 V6, 5 speed...bought it new in 2/96. I sold it after 2 1/2 years and then bought a new '98 Z28, which I still have to this day with no plans of selling it...EVER! My point is, I've had both a 3.8 V6, same motor you've got, and I still have my '98, same year as yours.
AFTER the car is fully tuned up, meaning new plugs, wires, fuel filter, oil change, etc., the first mods for better performance should be intake and exhaust. Look into a new lid and a cat-back exhaust to free up a few HP. After that, look into either a handheld tuner or a dyno tune.
