1999 V6 Studdering and throwing codes

This is for my friend's 1999 Camaro 3.8 Manual Tranny

Went to Autozone and they scanned the car but didn't really help. This is what I wrote down

The codes are as follow

P0102 MAF or VAF Circuit low
P0420 Catalyst something lol
P1514 Idle Speed Sensor or something
P1516 Same as above
P0420 I think same as above

I just changed the spark plugs and the wires and it's running smooth but it studders and shakes under acceleration... it's not constant... it happens constantly sometimes and sometimes it'll be fine for 5 minutes and then goes back to it...

We bought electric sensor cleaner and are going to clean out the MAF sensor to see if that helps.

Any thoughts or ideas if you guys can check out the code #s I don't have a book to see details of them.

Thanks!

By the way the turn signals don't work either... the hazards work but hte turn signals don't work. The arrow doesn't show up solid on the light... all the bulbs are fine cuz we checked them all...

Thanks!

My wife has a similar problem with that 420 code and some another that was something like "catalysts low." It popped up every now and then when she was driving at cursing speed for a while then stopped at a light; never lead to any major problems, I just cleared the code when she got home and then the car ran fine (did this a few times in a year). After a while I changed the O2 sensor and it didn't pop up for a good year or so; maybe that's related??
only other thing that comes to mind is maybee the IAC but I'm not sure if they even have them on cameros as I've never had to repalce one

For the signals I’ve heard of many people having the “sticking turn signal” and if I remember right it is a relay that causes the problem (think it was behind the dash)

best of luck

Tim

p.s. I see your from queen's and wondering if you could advise on something: I've got to do some work up in NY & NJ and will be commuting all around up there so I'm looking to get one of the EZ pass toll deals.. I looked online and found the sign up site etc., but they wanted my tag # and were going to send me a EZ tag. Is this something that only works on my car ( i.e. reads my tag # then tolls from there) or is it a little electronic transponder that can move from car to car as I'm probably going to be in a rental car

Thanks for the advice.. i'm actually in Orlando but EZpass unlike Sunpass and E-pass here you can move to other cars and they don't care... i used to borrow my parents EZPass all the time for my cars.

We did clear the codes and it kept happening... someone told me to check the fuses in the fuse box (it's not my car so I didn't see it since this weekend) I'm only trying to help a friend out... next round will probably be O2 sensors... so far we changed plugs, wires, and fuel filter... Thanks for the help and good luck up North1
