Angry 1997 Camaro 3.8 V6

I bought my 97 with 27,000 on it.The only upgrade I have done is added the flowmaster muffler to it. Abou 8 months ago it started to have a hard start problem hot or cold and when i get it started you can smell the raw fuell and see the smoke out of the exhaust. Now it has a bad miss from idle on and I have to run 93 octane just to help it a bit. I took it to chevy and they said it was fine..wrong!! I took it to a buddy's shop..computer showed missing on 2 cylinders.was told to replace coil packs,so I did...now before this problem I had changed the plugs and wires.Didn't do it agin only a few months later when i did the coil packs.I can't take off hard or punch it or acclerate slow with out it banging out..and starts jerking somewhat. I have changed the MAF sensor also..I still get the misfire codes when I hammer on it ..I really need some help here...I was going to replace all the injectors and even the fuel pump but before i spend the moola i wanted anoth opinion and no shop can tell me what may be wrong...should i change the plugs and wires again? Please anyone help..and when it starts banging out..there is no smoke out of my exhaust when this occurs...sometimes there isn't a hard start very rarely though and does it hot or cold..so does the miss..thanks for any help!

1. What kind of plugs and wires did you put in?
2. Is this a 5 speed or an Auto?
3. Have you done a compression check?
4. What color is the smoke?

I had similiar problems (hesitation bucking) when my #3 wire went. I was getting arcing. You could hear it "tick , tick , tick" I had my mechanic replace them all. Of course he put in crappy wires and they failed again in 6 months. We put in better wires and it's good so far.

v6 problems

I am running ACDelco platinum plugs and wires, compression checked out ok and it is an auto...by the way i filled up with some shell 93 octane and added some 104 booster/cleaner and it has very little stumble now...the smoke is black with slight blue,,doesn't use oil at all and i checked for arcing at night and couldnt see any..think im going to do a resistance test on wires and replce them with some Accel wires i got . Give me a carb any day .I have 2 other camaros 79 and an 81 Z28 no problems there and they are souped up ...here me comming blocks away...ready to put my 425 horse 283 in this 97 and do some fabrication with my TH350 ...but i dont have the proper equipment to do that right now...I hate computer cars man...the really only thing i hate on these cars are how far the engine sits under the windshield..and also the plugs and wires on it...thanks!

Ya test your wires, but it sounds more like another sensor. Possibly a MAF on it's way out? I hada trouble problem with my 2.8 a long time ago. The thing only acted up occasionaly and no one could fix it... Finally took it to the dealer, they hooked a lap top to it and drove it.. Seems at certain RPM the sensor read a voltage irregularity. Something you could never detect with a simple scan....
