1988 camaro wont crank with key

My brother owns a 88 camaro v6. If I jump the starter with a screwdriver it will crank and run. If I turn the key I get nothing. Possible causes ? Neutral safety switch is all I can come up with?
Where can I find a wiring diagram for the start circuit?

Re: 1988 camaro wont crank with key

could be the iginition switch thats located towards the base of the steering column ontop, there is a rod that when turning the key completes the circuit to start the car.

my 71 wouldnt start with the key, 18 bucks later for a new ignition switch it was all fixed.
