the firehawk wasnt stock he had heads and cam, i think I know about cars more than you..... well since you think your better than me, but thats ok leather upgrades dont make your car go fast.... I think heads and cam ls1 should be able to beat me do you get it yet or is your reading impaired....

I can't believe this thread is still going on. Come on people lets get real. He has a bolt-on LT1 that can beat some stock LS1's but that's about it due to the extra weight. There is no way he legitimately pulled a Z06 on the highway.

Either the Z06 wasn't racing, couldn't shift to save his life, had mechanical problems or this whole story is BS to begin with.

You just can't beat a car that has a lot more RWHP and less weight then you at highway punches unless you get lucky because the other car had a problem.

 

Another ls1 guy well maybe he did or he didnt we were at 90 mph so I think I did good 35 horses is not a lot more what do z06 dyno 2002 2003 350 2000 models 325 and I have raced ls1s with exhaust and lid no problems.... Maybe darren he thought he could pull me in his fifth gear but I was suprised, Like I said you ls1 people have your opinions, I guess the theory of evolution included ls1/ls6s. Look at the other thread 94 firehawk spanking a zo6 what do you think about that.....

 

No such thing as a 2000 ZO6. The first LS6 model ZO6 was in 2001 and they have between 330-350rwhp stock + 300+lbs lighter, more aerodynamic, and have better highway gears. You would need atleast 360-370rwhp to beat one from a roll. Ask 97bowtie about a ZO6. He raced thye slower version (2001) and he had around 330rwhp at the time. He was pulled by a couple carlengths to 130mph and his car has alot more done then yours (including cam).

 

35 horses is a lot more in the grand scheme of things. Then add 500 lbs less do to you being heavy and you get owned. Sorry but it's true. Here is what I see. You have a LT1 that has 314 RWHP if your sig is correct. Many LS1's dyno at 300 RWHP. Some more and some less depending on year and transmission. But lets say you have 15 RWHP more then an average stock ls1. Now you factor in that you weigh about 250 lbs. heavier then a bone stock LS1 and that dips into your HP advantage a lot. But you have 4.10 gears and that helps.

So if all that info is correct then I could see you pulling a stock 98-00 A4 LS1 especially if it had 2.78 gears. But I could easily see a 01-02 M6 LS1 pulling on you even with thier 3.42 gears because they'll dyno about what you do and weigh less. Some 01-02 Autos might be a close race, some 99-00 M6's may be close but the bottom line is this.

Against a stock LS1 you will win some and you will lose some until you either get more RWHP, reduce your weight or preferrably both. Against a stock Z06 you don't stand a chance if the vette driver can shift good and his/her car is in perfect running order. Get heads and a cam and then I could see you beating stock Z06's.

You may have beaten a lousy Z06 driver or a Z06 with mechanical problems but you did not beat a Z06 well drivin and in perfect running order. Not with your setup anyway.

Do you think your car would beat a 2003 cobra ? Because a zo6 can ! Amd I would place a bet , cash , that you cannot beat either . Unless there is alot more done to your car then you mention " a whole hell of alot more "
I know how LT1's respond to mods , Some cammed LT1's wont even hit a 12.9 or 13.0 but your LT1 w/headers is a 12 second car ? It would have to be to beat a ZO6 ! And that still doesnt mean you have a chance on the highway . If you was smart you would remove this thread and change your name . Actually I know a guy with An auto that ran a 13.2. w/free ram air mod and thats it , in an auto . That thing would destroy his car!

My bone stock LS1 was close thrue first gear w/my lt1 , in second , I was walking , in 3rd , I was running ...It was funny . Like racing a mustang in an LT1

Well everyone , I looked at my June issue of Road&Track , The road test the done on the z06 , at the ford proving grounds , was a 12.44@114mph in the 1/4 . So Zeuss , your car run a 12.4 ?.....................I didnt think so !

 

on the Z06 kill, has more hp than you modded, weighs less and has much better topend especially with your 4.10's. More effecient heads/intake. They trap 116-117 from what Ive seen. i think it never happened or you got
