LS1's have 30-50 more hp realisticly and weigh close to the same. Not to mention LS1's have 6 speed's VS 5 speeds.
Not trying to take anything away from the new pony. "Its gonna be my next major auto purchase"
Yeah they are.

I guess the Mustang GT is always gonna be a low-14/high-13 sec. car even if it has 400 HP.

The last time I was at the track, there were two brand new ones in the staging lanes next to me and I was talking to one guy. He showed me his timeslip and it was 13.5@10x with a 2.1 60' and his odometer had 600-something miles on it. The car was BRAND NEW. Unless of course he stole that timeslip from someone else at the track.

The time in my sig. is with a 2.0 60' and street tires, so I know what I'm doing. I also have about 15 RWHP in mods. Maybe my LS1 is a dud...

Check the recent issue of Motor Trend with the Charger and GT test. That GT ran a 13.5@103.

It's a driver's race through the 1/4-mile.

The previous GT was not LT1 quick . My LT1 is nothing special and I can destroy the old GT's all day long. My friends 2000 S10 (stock vortech V6) can run with the the old GT's.
