The "evidence" you brought in is 10 second cars. Way to prove your point
You better be running much faster than them, lest you be called a dyno queen yourself. You claimed the majority of these cars are dyno queens. The burden of proof rests on you to back that statement up.
Re: t78 Supra vs. 04 Viper SRT-10
To start off so no flaming. I have been a part of this board for over 2 years. Have alot of friends on here and JUST sold my old G body. 450 HP (crank) 12.02 in the 1/4.
Supras are great cars and do get alot of hype. So what? So does anything else that has big HP. > You get the typical " what's the difference between a 400 hp and 600 hp Supra?" We all know that. The truth is that, it is the same with any high hp car that chooses to NOT run real tires. Alot of MKIV guys and some MKIII's generally run street tires. Heck I did until this first pass and going to run slicks next year. Depends on what p[eople's goals are. Soem people like to show off the MPH and not 1/4...?
I have a MKIII Supra and just dynoed my car recent. I ran at the track only once with this set-up. 11.9@130. Yes a crap time for the MPH and will be 10's soon enough. Was on slicks but only used therm to keep traction while I took off. Reason: I went to Vegas for a big Supra meet and didn't want to break anything the day before I was leaving.
There are many cars that are capable of the Supras power if they spend the right coin IMO. I have a Supra and I get tired of hearing remarks also that can't be backed up.
I have many friends that run 1/4 and autocross with Supras and you would be surprised in the amount of cars made of those who race them. Some Supras (like at the Vegas Supra show I attend anually) are dyno queens. They are on the dyno and get off and back to the trailer it goes. There are many cars like that besides Supras. I guess it depends on what people have the car for. I am not making excuses but to state some facts and open people's minds to the real world
Ra
Anyway I beat a brand new viper in my car and the guy gave me a thumbs up
Might I mention in the OLD school MKIII
Thanks for listening.

Re: t78 Supra vs. 04 Viper SRT-10
Supra's get the dyno queen rap because it's so easy to get big hp out of them, but once you've got the hp, most guys don't know what to do with it. It takes a ton of skill to launch a car that has no power below 3k rpms and over 500 rw by 4500 rpms. I've had a 94 and a 97 TT and never had much luck getting my et's to match my traps. My 535 rwhp Supra barely got out of the 13's while my 450 rwhp vette ran 12.20's (both on street tires). I don't think it was the car's fault though as the mph was insane and it's the mph that tells you the cars capability, it's up to the driver to figure out what to do with it. I interpret a dyno queen as a car that can't back up it's hp. The Supra can back it up, it just takes a lot more work.

Re: t78 Supra vs. 04 Viper SRT-10
I agree with the driver theory.
My first time at the track was the time I post above. Have to ignore that one.
Last year I only had 460 rwhp and on STREET tires I ran a 12.5@122.48. Got used to that but the turbo was much smaller. Now that I have a much bigger turbo it will turn on like a light switch compared to the last and will take lots of seat time to get it down the track at a decent time.
My Cutlass ran a 12.0@120 on street tires and skinny ones at that 225x60's
and as you can see the cars power were somewhat similar.
Every car will be different and that is what makes it all the more exciting
