The srt4 runs 14 flat @ 100 mph. Properly driven you should be a half second quicker and 3-5 mph faster.

 

Out-launching a 4 cylinder turbo fwd car is NOT going to be difficult with any configuration of LS1. There won't be any catching up to do.

i dont think it will be quite as easy as you all think. Even though they are only 4 cylinders they still have a good amount of *****, and it probably has alot less miles than your car. Also about a week ago i ran an srt4 with a cutout, wastegate, and chip from a 15 roll. I thought i was gonna smoke it cause most of his money was into carbon fiber trinck and hood, not the engine. It turned out a little diffferently, i spun stait thriough first and by 130mph he had 4 cars on me, so dont get too sure just yet thats all.

 

^He bull ****ted you then ... THeres no way that a SRT4 that mildly modded is taking a cammed LT1 with deamn near full bolt ons. I'm going to call bull**** on the SRT driver. Or your car is not running right ...

 

no my car was running great i was shifting at around 5800 rpm and he put 3-4 cars on me. i see the guy almost every weekend but it is light as ****. i think it is a stge one too but im not posotive. Also i saw the engine it wasnt anthing special stock turbo and all. he sayed he dynoed at 260 something horse to the front wheels. i dont know what they are stock??

 

Thats pretty close to what they do dyno stock I think?

 

4 cars by 130 means he must have been doing well over 140. A 260hp srt4 is not going to rape your car like that if it is running good, even if you are spinning your tires. I agree with above and think he has more mods than he's telling you about. As for this thread, you won't have any problem with your bosses car. Let us know!

 

Just curious, why are you shifting at only 5800? Most bolt on only LT1 cars are shifted at around that.

Even on stock heads with a mild cam, I would think you would benefit from shifting a little higher like 6,000RPMs ...

You ever run yours at a track?

 

i usually shift at 6 but my shift light is a dial in and the dial moved because of the vibration so i just went with it even though i could se on the tach it was only 5800.i just wasnt that worried about 200 rpm so instead of looking at my tach doing 130mph on a highway i just went with the light so i could look at the road. I am trying to race him from a dig but he wont do it. Also i have never ran it at the track i plan on going some time this month after i get the 3.73 and underdrives on.

 

Gears should make a nice difference too with your car. Alot of people like 410s but thats a little too much gear I think for a modified M6

 

ya even with the 3.42 stock gears it launches hard in 1st and with 4.10s i have a feeling first geer would be almost too low for a street driven car. I think i would wind up shifting right away. oh and i fixed the light so now i is set at 6000. pulls like all hell up ti that too. you can really feal it throw you back after 4500rpm's thats why i was so surprised with this srt4. i think im gonna convince him to run me from a stop cause when we ran from a roll we went twice.both from about 20mph. the first time i went from second gear and he pulled like all hell on me cause i bogged, the second time was from first gear but i spun clean through and then had to shift in abput a half a second so it was from a very aquard speed for my car with these gears.

 

I raced a brand new SRT4 ACR version and killed him pretty badly (twice at the track), the only mod I had was a catback. But if he has anything other than the slowest version it will be a race. My friend has a stage three and he went 120 in the 1/4 with a 12.0 ET. Our track is at 2700 feet too so at sea level it is a mid 11 second car.

 

If he jumps you you had better be able to drive if you dont want to be laughed at.
