so my manager at where i work is gettin a srt4 on friday, and i just bought a 98ls1 z28, and well the talk has already started and since everyone at my work is retarded and think tht they kno all there **** about cars and think my car is slow everyone says hes gonna walk me. so my manager challenged me to a race soon, jw how bad should i beat him lol. my car is an a4 by the way and his is the slowest version of it

 

Welcome to the site and you will most likely have a good race on hand unless he cannot drive the car, then it will be a murder. Should be pretty even down low buy you should start to walk him hard up top.

do you have 2:73 or 3:23 gears??

 

I would bet big time on you, but a few things would definately come to mind first. Like mentioned above, what ratio gears are in your A4?
Also how many miles are on your 98 and was it taken care of ( I.e Oil changes properly...you know, good preventive maintenance)
If he is a stage 1 you will pull ahead atop 2nd gear and 3rd gear will just get ugly after that...lol
Stage 2 would make things interesting, but since you said slowest version then you will win.

 

you will probally win by 5-6 car lenths if you race a quater mile. Then after you can bust every ones *****!!!

 

its got 2.73s but i think i am gonna save for 3.73s but i am gonna race him completely stock

i agree, if you can hang with him at the launch, its all your easily. even tho your car pulls like a freight train, you dont want to play catch up

 

well idk why, but i think it might be the tires but if i gun it from a stand still i just chirp the tires and i am gone, but if i am goin 35mph and gun it i chirp them almost as much. so its weird but i kinda like it cuz it grabs traction and CYA

You could be a dick and be like "Well since your car is front wheel drive, lets go from a 5 MPH roll that way we can both hook up. He will sit there trying to make boost, and you'll make 300 ft/lbs at 2000RPMs and take off.

man youll get him........ i have a A4 and kill them all the time...... not to say anything wrong with them but i used to worry about those cars but once i pulled on like 4 different ones i was like ok there not all there hyped to be.......

 

The 2.73's might make it a little close at the start but you should be able to catch him if you have a clean launch.
