Umm its a 4door sedan that weighs 2900+lbs? hardly a "light" 4cyl car

The real potential is turbo selection and displacement

2.4L + 16g = plenty of room

I would imagine he outgrows his injectors before the turbo but with an EVO turbo on there.....11's easy

Sick little car

Theres one problem with the guys with sRT4's running these times. They think they can rule with an iron fist and beat everyone and everything anywhere at anytime Put those lil ****s in their place! Granted I want one, so I can be a lil **** sometimes, but something about the LS1 just makes me never wanna get rid of it! blah I work at a dodge dealership so I have to stare at SRT4's and SRT10s all the time. And then I go out back and stare at my car that beat the SRT10 truck and the SRT4 stock makes me feel warm inside.

It's light compared to what our engines need to push around.

2850 lbs versus 3400-3600 lbs for the f-body is quite a difference. That is why we need a motor that can put out low end TQ and keep it to redline.

Unless you go nitrous, it's not easy.

Seen more run 14.1 then anything but There was a guy who brought his SRT-4 to the track last year and it was pretty much brand spanking new, and he busted out a few 13.7's@102. I thought maybe it was a stage 2 from the dealer. I know they sold them instages and had one that was supposed to hit low 13's all day. The salesman when I was looking at them tryed to tell me it would wax my LS1.

Re: SRT-4 in the hands of a real driver

Just wanted to point out that this thread is 2 years old...

The new Caliber, while just as love it / hate it in the looks department, will make some serious waves with 300 hp stock. Keeping it FWD was stupid though, especially since they're going to make an AWD non-turbo version of the same car!

You're kidding, right?? I'm betting if thats right, one of the first swaps will be a turbo motor in an AWD chassis.

Lets do some basic math since this thread was brought back from the dead

3500lbs pulled by 5.7L = 614lbs to pull per liter
2900lbs pulled by 2.4L = 1208lbs per liter

The car isnt light in no way shape or form for a 2.4L motor to pull around

This car went 12.0@118 after a turbo upgrade was sold and he purchased an EVO which went 11.87@116.9 FMIC, Intercool pipe, AFC, injectors, exhaust, Boost controller and race gas on street tires and the STOCK turbo

He has sinced coached a local SRT4 owner to the fastest times on stock turbo in the nation at 12.0@114 on slicks as well

On the fly the SRT pulled very hard and walked multiple local LS1's NA and juiced on video The only local car that gave him a run from a fly was our friends blown C5 --- 525whp at 12psi on a procharger who trapped 121

The EVO from a dig was amazing 1.6 60's on street tires

He currently owns a Honda CRX with an LS/VTEC motor and its capable of high 12's on slicks naturally aspirated --- he is considering a cam swap from stock for low to mid 12's and 30+mpg

Its been almost two years since I have even been on the site --- thanks for the memories guys
