The last thread I posted in here, I made a stock ls1 look absolutely pathetic. I think the guy was expecting to put about 5 cars on me due to his over-inflated faith in a stock ls1.
Re: So what's your most memerable street race ?
Id have to say a Honda Civic SI..Wasnt the race itself, I killed him...basically the memorable part was how the race took place...Pretty much your typical gang a ricers lookin to start something w/ the guy in the camaro all by himself and get roasted in the end, weve all been through it.
Re: So what's your most memerable street race ?
Getting molested by a 347 stroker LX Stang.
It was about as bad as Action Jackson and a little boy ...
I stayed even with him out of the hole, and by 3rd gear he had at least 2-3 car lengths on me. He seemed to actually know his **** though, so it really impressed me. And his car sounded AWESOME.

Re: So what's your most memerable street race ?
My most memerable race was about 8 years ago. At the time I was driving my '89 Steeda mustang ( yes it was a real one) It had heavily ported dart heads,x cam, GT40 intake,Lt's,etc. It ran low 12's on M&H racemaster DOT's.
Well one Friday at about 3pm on my way home from work I got behind a 3rd gen camaro in mint condition. I noticed he had gauges on the A pillar and a monster tach on the dash. So I thought he might want to play. So I continue following. I even go past the road I live on to see what happens.Well we come to a stop at an intersection with a straight 4 lane road(thats were we test my saleen).I give a rev but he goes straight accross some I'm like WTF. We come to the next stop at a road which is straight for maybe a little longer a quater mile then a left corner but is only 2 lane and kind of bumpy.
Well he takes a left and I follow, he nails it and I nail it I stayed right on his bumper through first and second but I miss 3rd and he pull about 3 car lenths but I get back on it catch him and pass him by this time I'm doing about 110mph (its a 25mph zone) Then I notice Down the street a truck has pulled out of a driveway and I was coming at him extremley fast. I pumped the brakes 3 times and I knew I could'nt slow down in time so I pull out to pass him and then a car comes around the corner going the other direction so my only option was to go right in between them and I did
I then drove home very slowly and got the car ready to go to the track the following day. My stomach was in a knot for 2 days after that.
The guy in the camaro ended up being a good friends brother in law and I talked to him a couple of weeks later. He was like your fricken crazy. I honestly thought you were gonna die. I was like, your not the only one.
After that I have'nt street raced much. Maybe at stoplight get a few car lenth and lift to show a occasional import the rules. I save the all out runs for the track.

Re: So what's your most memerable street race ?
My most memorable race was one that I watched back in highschool. Those were the days because everyone had Fbodies or Mustangs, instead of the abundant ammount of rice that overfloods the streets now.
We all headed out to the usual spot and raced for about 2 hours. Well we see some lights coming and can feel the ground shaking. A couple of older guys showed up in a 70? Nova and a 68 Camaro. The Nova was a juiced 454 with a TH400 while the Camaro was a juiced 400 with a TH400 also. They were both really cool guys and talked with us for a while and watched a few races. Low and behold the sheriffs show up and start sending us home. They see both the old cars sitting in the background and ask if they have been racing. Of course they haven't so we tell them no.
The sherriffs actually ask them to race because they wanna see them run em. So these cars go line up and get ready. I was down towards the start with a few other friends when they took off. I swear both the cars pulled the front wheels. It was the baddest thing I have ever seen. At the end everyone said it was too close to call. After that the cops sent everyone home, but damn that was sweet seeing that happen with two sherriffs watching.

Re: So what's your most memerable street race ?
One other race, this one I was in, was about a year ago. I had just gotten my nitrous on and after slaying a few other F bods and misc cars I felt pretty high and mighty. I saw this really clean Foxbody driving out towards the highway and it must have been heading out of town because it had Oklahoma tags on it. Well I follow it and try to get it to race. I really didn't notice anything out of the ordinary because it wasn't that loud and LOOKED stock. Well I pull up to him on the highway, purge the kit so he knows whats up, and give him a rev. He looks at me with no emotion and we take off. The nitrous hit HARD and I put about a half a car on him before he completely *** rapes me. There was smoke coming from his tires when he passed me. I have no clue what he had done to it, but when it went past me I swear it sounded like an F-15 punching it into afterburner at takeoff. It was sick!!! That was the only time I have been beated by a Foxbody and I am not ashamed to say it was one hell of a spankin!
Re: So what's your most memerable street race ?
My 69 Z/28-302-VS-69 RoadRunner-440. This was way back in the days, I had heard this car was coming to town and would be out at our spot late that night if anybody wanted some. My old man owned an auto parts shop and just so happened to be out of town that weekend, so I did some major tuning, changed the carb and bolted on some slicks.
Later that night-we (my buds and me) met up at our parts store and uncapped the headders and off to the spot we went. Sure enough the guy was there-soon a **** load of people showed, a couple of other cars ran and me and the RR were next. He accused me of trying to cheat cause I had slicks-I said we run what we brung. The 302 wasn't "completely" stock-I had slipped in a Cam Dynamics 295/295 with a .550 lift solid, and TRW 12.5 pistons and he could smell the race gas-but still a 302.
I heat the Mickeys hard and roll up to the line, he lines up even, that big block is THUMPING! I get nervous/excited and I know the light is close-my bud points to me-then to him-I bring up the revs-both hands up AND WE GO!!
It felt like I carried the wheels because the steering wheel had NO resistance-can't hear the motor cause he's right there, slam second and grab about 1/2 car on him and we STAY that way till the end of the quarter. That was the closest most exciting race i've ever had. If i'd have made the slightest mistake he'd have owned me.
Not too bad for a lil' old mouse motor. Dude was cool-we drank beer afterwards and marveled over each others cars.
Good days

Best race was probably against a brand new 05 BMW 750Li. Still had the paper tags on it and everything. Raced two times from a dead stop, and beat him both times. Some kid in a 350z jumped me once, and by 80 I had not only reeled him in, but blew past him bad. This was also spinning badly from a stop because he took me by suprise so bad at the light.

Re: So what's your most memerable street race ?
I have 2 memorable races the first being when i raced my firends friend in his almighty '98 jeep cherokee. lol he thought it was bada** until he tried to do a ricer flyby and when he got to my bumper i shifted into 4th and smoked him. after that he had plans to put intake/exhaust on it and claimed then he would beat me.
On another note last year i raced a '04 cobra. I had talked to the guy around where i worked and he seemed cool and i saw him one day so we went out on a back road and with him right behind me i punched it and he was on my a** the whole time he didnt pass me but it was just because it was kind of hilly although i no he one. we pulled off and talked about cars and i looked under his hood and it was completely stock, but it was the faster car i ever raced and he said i was the fastest car he had raced...yet.

My 87' t-type against a late 80's mustang. Not sure what he had but it was really loud & fast. So anyway he gave me a half car length head start. He closed the gap pretty quick & beat me by a fender at the end of the road. My friend told me the stang's wheels came off the ground slightly when he launched so I felt pretty good about the race.
Another good one was in my dad's 95' Chevy Z-71 (short-bed regular cab). Pulled up next to some kid & his g/f in a stock late 70's/early 80's Z28. This thing was obviously not well taken care of by the looks of it. I threw him a rev & they laughed at me. I got the last laugh though when I put 2-3 car lengths on them.
