Run in with s2000
Re: Run in with s2000
i dont know why 100hp per litre is so impressive, the new pontiac solstice ecotec turbo puts out 130hp per litre, outperforming most adored imports. But I doubt that we'll see as many solstices out as we see s2000s.

Whats impressive is the amount of hp the Supra guys can get out of the 2JZ. Or how much hp the FQ400 Evo makes out it's 2 liters.

I think the upped displacement was to "try" to get a little more low-end torque out of them??
I don't feel like looking this all up right now, but can someone confirm whether they increased the stroke (and not the bore) of the engine???

Re: Run in with s2000
^^^ exactly
. A friend from highschool put a B16A (1.6L VTEC) into his '90 Integra (this was a few years ago now) and he bragged how that motor revved to ~9000 RPM, and he could shift it no problem around ~8500. "Supposedly" that was a ~14-second capable car?
Thing was, his brother's '96 T/A (which only ran 14.6) absolutely SMOKED that poor Integra!!
I was just like, "yeah, nice 14 seconds bud
".
BUT, that's not to say that an S2000 is a bad car. They're an exceptional road racing car, but they just shouldn't be put through the embarrassment of drag racing

Those are torqueless pigs off the line even if you were to dump the clutch at 6kRPM (how many of those will it take anyways
) Im betting that my stock 97 V6 will take it in the 1/8
Re: Run in with s2000
I had a run-in with one like a week and a half ago. They said it had only intake and exhaust. We went from 10 rolls and on the first run he missed a gear and I heard a BOV. He got the jump on me that run because it took a while for my car to downshift, but once it caught, I reeled him in hard and put about 4 cars on him to 70. Then we went from a 15 roll but I had my shifter in 1st and on the third honk we went and I pulled him hard the entire time. I put about 6-7 cars on him to 80. He was cool about it and I actually met up with him last weekend, though he had the top down and I'm sure he enjoyed the exhaust note as I passed him
