omfg are u kidding?

I think his most powerful mod on there gives him at most 1 horsepower.

stop doubting your car and go smoke his wanna-be ****.

u ppl worry too much about these ricer types that just have a bunch of flashy lights and gizmos on there car. Don't let those things distract you from the fact they are slow.

I know some of hte mods are hillarious, I copy/pasted them from his sig on another forum. But I think that pulley mod gives like 30hp over stock, stock is like 200hp and 260 torque. I'm not afraid just wondering. I will post back videos once it goes down at the track.

A stock 1998 Grand Prix GTP is 240hp....with a smaller pulley on the s/c and the opened up exhaust he could be makin up around 280ish maybe more. Iv seen some GTPs at the track and they were runnin high 13's....one guy was in the 12's. DR's up front of course...

Re: 96 Formula vs. 98 GTP 4 door..What do ya think??

There is nothing "ricer" about those mods or the car. Alot of those are "free mods" or "cheap mods" that help pull the knock count down and are supporting mods for his smaller diameter pulley. Personally though, with what little he does have done to the car, it seems his choice of pulley is a little steep so he might still be getting a good amount of knock and that is going to hurt his numbers. Anyways, long story short, if he can drive and the car is in good running order, he will probably be in the high 13s at best. As long as you have a handle on your new M6, you shouldn't have any problems.

Hmmm...

My wife's car is a 2001 4-door GTP. The mods are 3.4" pulley, DHP PCM, 160 stat, home made cold air with K&N cone (fenderwell) and a catless downpipe. The car has run a best of 13.676 with MPH up to 101.5, averaging in the 13.7-8 territory. Don't take them lightly, alot of people have made that mistake.

Do you have any times on your car? With your mods you should be mid 13's if not very close. The longtubes will make all the difference in the world.

And as for the guy saying these are a bunch of "flash" mods. Do your homework before you go spouting off. You'll definately look smarter for the effort. As for right now, you just look "flashy"...

You should take him but he will be right behind you. My brother ran a 14.2 with just an intake in his 1999 GTP. Since then he's added the modular 3.4 pully, DHP tune and a 3'' downpipe then ran a 14.1 with a 2.3 60 foot.
They're decent cars but no match for an LT-1 unless they're modded well.

I bet it'll be dead even all the way down the track. As said before, don't underestimate those cars, as they can be VERY quick and deceiving. There was a guy at my local track running 8.40's in the 1/8 with a relatively stock(nothing MAJOR done to it) GTP. All I remember is him passing me about 100' before the finish line.

this place is where i live www.zzperformance.com and one of my friends works there... these cars can be made very quick with just a few mods... there's only 2 gtp's here in grand rapids that i won't run and they are both "shop" cars for zzp... good luck with the race

Are you referring to the turbo twin-intercooled car that is in the 9s?

you're kidding right? GTP's with 3.4 pulleys routinely hit low 13s.

This will be a good race.

As already stated, don't get too confident. If he can get the car off of the line, it'll be pretty tight. A GTP racing an LT1 can be like an LT1 racing an LS1; in the right situation it can go either way.
