Antz,
You should spend more time racing in real life and less time racing on the internet.
Internet and magazine racers...gotta' love 'em.

Werd, I love all Cars.
I love Z28's, I hope to god they come back out, so I dont make a mistake an buy a Charger, but, Antz, you have no clue, an trap speed = **** on the street.
Crapstangs can haul even though they dont have the Hp that Z's do, one day you'll learn.......maybe not

I am multiple car lenghts ahead of cars that I used to lose to before this round of mods. I am not cocky. I am just saying I think I would be a very close race against stock LS1s in the 1/4 mile. I am not afraid to call out LS1s. If I win I win, if I lose I lose, I can handle it. Where did I ever say I would kill stock LS1s? I said I think it would be a very close race! The offer still stands, anybody with a bone stock LS1 that wants to meet me on June 25 at 7 p.m. at the Fernley track?

Steve, just for a comparison I went 13.41 @ 109.46 in a stock 01 WS6. Thats around 6/10ths and 8+ mph with a worse 60' (2.31).

A guy i know with an '01 with intake exhaust and drag radials couldn't even get 13's 14.2's as a matter of fact.

TONY

But he just bought an '04 Competition orange Cobra. Maybe he'll be running mid 13's now hahahahahaha

Jess,
I think you proved SteveY's point. You don't race trap speeds, ET is what counts. Internet racers don't understand the point.
.6 is easily made up with a set of sticky tires and a few mods. IMO, a driver with a lazy short time, or a car not running 109mph is going to have their hands full with a GT on a DR with bolt-ons that's in the mid-13's. If he's running a car that goes 105-106mph (as so many LS1's do), and he gets out on them, it's going to be tough to reel him in.
I'd drive that GT against ya'.
Nice times with the T/A...get that thing outta' the gate better and it might hit 12's.

<an trap speed = **** on the street.>

Gotta disagree here somewhat. Trap speed doesn't mean anything from a dig, but if you're going from a roll where traction isn't an issue (like most of my races are for some reason), trap speed becomes much more important than a good ET. Depends on the race.

Wink

Sean, it was opening night at Cecil and after waiting 3 hours I got the one run in. I know she will go faster. I usually hook well even on the street but the line was wet that night. It was like a rice patty if you know what I mean.

Cecil is a fast track. I'd love to run the Cobra there on a nice, cool fall morning.

Yep thats true. If going from a roll then ET doesn't matter how you look at it. The MPH is the main factor because it shows what kind of power your putting out.

Your average bone stock 6-speed LS1 will go about mid 13s in the 1/4 mile with a decent driver. I think my car will go mid 13s as well. So I think a bone stock LS1 against me will be a good close race. I will find out what my car runs sooner or later when I feel like driving 140 miles each way to the nearest sea level track. I consistently get 3-5 cars out of the hole against any rwd street tired car with this car with the DRs. That is a big advantage. It is going to take a very well driven LS1 with a strong motor to catch up from that kind of jump. Not to mention, most people when getting pounded that hard out of the hole freak out, miss gears, etc. and screw up because of the pressure. I am trying to find somebody with this car around here to find out what will happen! I am not just internet racing like you Antz. Anybody around here with a bone stock LS1 want to find out what happens? Heck I am 1 and 0 against stock LS1s so far in this car. I ripped him by 5 carlengths out of the hole and he couldn't gain anything the rest of the way, but I don't think he was the greatest driver. This was also with my car's 14.0 at 101 mods.

Well hate to say it for you Stang owners, but the day I bought my '99 SS I was driving her home and caught a dude in a '01 Stang GT at a light. ( I bought my car in late '01) There was nothing but open road for miles ahead. He got me out of the hole by a car or so, and then it was all me. I passed him like he was standing still and by the time I hit 110 he was about 4 to 5 cars back. My car is an A4! I was bone stock at that time and I don't know if he had mods or not, defnetly had a nice exhaust on it though. My 2 cents!

Sounds about right. Good kill! The Stang was probably stock. I have about 25 more rwhp than stock, 200 lbs. less than stock and good tires. Those mods should go a long way to evening the race with a bone stock LS1 in the 1/4 mile. We shall see, if I can find a stock one willing to race me. I have been looking for months at the strip and haven't found a stock one that will race yet.
