Talking 2 ricers at the same time

Boy do I get that all the time. I got a long drive to work every night and it seems at least once a night one comes up next to me and wants to race! I usually give it a rev then let them take off and sit back and watch them go!! Kinda funny, but I really don't don't like to race them for a numbr of reasons. 1. they don't know how to drive and 2. they don't understand the concept of upcomming traffic in their lane.

here is the latest ding dong I decided to race. So I am driving along and some silly looking glow in the dark Honda passes me up then all of a sudden he hits his brakes then taps them a few times. Now we are side by side and he really wants to go. So I give a ltlle rev and we are off. I am keeping him just under a car length behind me cause, like I said before"they don't know how to drive" We are in the hundreds breaking teens, and we start to come up to traffic. He is in the 4th or far right lane and I am in the 3rd and he is not slowing down for the car he is coming up on. I usually back off when I come up to alot of traffic, so I get over to the 2nd lane and back off so he can go around the car in his lane. You know what the dummy did! Instead of slowing down and moving to the left he sped up and tried to pass the car on the shoulder!!! Yes the shoulder. All of a sudden I heard plastic breaking and the sound of gravel. Of course he had to pull off the freeway cause he obviously broke something. I just drove buy him and laughed my a** off. That is why I don't race them. That was a dumb and irresponsible move. He could've wrecked or worst made contact with the car he was passing. I am mostly glad no one got hurt. Now my motto is "NO RICE BURNERS"

From: Salt Lake City,
highspeed, Sounds like you raced some wannabe from the last Fast and Furious movie.

One more flame to Sergio:

Air traffic controllers sure know a lot about physics, they sit on their A$$es all day while real pilots like me actually do the flying.

I thought you said that FWD drive cars were so great because wind pushes down on the front tires, if you now realize that is wrong I'm happy. Are you saying that FWD is better because the front tires lose traction at high speed and FWD's don't do well at cornering? Wow, that makes me really want to drive an econmy car now.

I love how you said that the rear wheel drive cars will flip over with a gust of wind, i don't think it makes a difference with FWD/RWD. If your car is starting to do a back flip I don't think you'll keep on pressing on the gas. Cars are not boats, cars don't skim over anything and yes a hydro plane still has a propeller at the rear of the boat just as any other boat does.

Your logic is way off about drive train loss. Other then the NSX, I can't think of any modern-day exotics that have a crankshaft that doesn't run perpendicular with the rear axle/drive shafts. A transaxle is just a differential and a transmission combined. Do you know how stupid a FWD exotic would look? A Ferrari V12 with a transaxle would have a hood that is three feet high! FWD cars are very limited to engine size because you can only fit so much under a hood. Engineers don't build mid-engined exotics just for the benefit of a transaxle, they just try and get all of the heavy stuff in the middle.

The Skyline is AWD because it needs rear traction, the WRX is a great little car because it needs RW traction too. The AWD Eclipse's perform much better then the FWD eclipses.

So what have we learned from Sergio's load of BS:
CIVIC's/FWD's suck because they are prone to understeer
CIVIC's/FWD's suck because they are limited to engine size
CIVIC's/FWD's suck because they are nose heavy
CIVIC's/FWD's suck because they lose traction at high speed

Sergio, there are many many reasons why automakers don't make fast FWD cars, it's just ridiculous. You should have bought an AWD Eclipse or something, your boosted little economy car still sucks!
