Holy Crap, the ricer's have moved in! Everyone that leased an apt. up at college is moving in today.
I went to get gas this afternoon and I must have seen 4 ricers with fart pipes. One cavalier with a loud *** coffee can on the back of it, a civic with the can and a giant rpm tach mounted on his dash, another silver honda that went flying full speed around a corner with the stylish bee on steriod exhaust tip and another alero with the can exhaust, giant wing, lowered .000001 inches from the ground and some weird looking SS hood with hood pins on it. Good god, what the hell is going on? LoL. Oh well, its the craze nowadays. The one civic I saw revved his little 4 banger has high as he could and got out and said to his friend "isn't it loud?" Yeah, sounds like a weedwacker, good job. I just don't get this new craze "Looking fast"

Ya I love those ricers, they have big talk and lots of stickers, I like to go and talk with them to see what they're about so I can make fun of them without them knowing it. I have found believe it or not, none of them know anything about cars but talk like they are engineers. I always see them parked reving there engine, you should go up to them and say, well your engine is bigger than a motorcycles, well how come yours sounds like my grandmas lawnmower? Or say to them wow your car is so loud, I wish mine sounded so loud, then go and open the cutout and rev the old F-Body and show them a real mans car. I really don't get the craz either, I think these people have never been in a truely fast car before and hey can you blame them, moms Honda has got to feel like a rocket compared to their powerful mopeds.

 

Your exactly right, they don't know what true power really is.

Example. Me and my buddy Bill were going to Rite Aid when an old friend from HS pulls up with this riced out berreta. We go over to talk to him and he tells us he put an exhaust system on it. I asked "really full exhaust?" and he said, yeah I put a Borla muffler on it. Oh, thats not full exhaust I said. Then he told us he has a intake on it. I asked, "Is it an Edelbrock?" he says, no a K&N, oh, so its a cold air kit. Then he points out his new loud horns he put in and his accel wires and then he starts talkin about how he is gonna put a 75 shot of nitrous on it. Me and bill just look at eachother and told him to be careful because nitrous is dangerous to people who are inexperinced with it and they could loose their entire engine. He says "Once I get the button I will smoke vettes easy" Yes people, he was dead serious. We told him maybe he should hold off on the vettes and stick to racing other funny looking ricers. He recently added LEDs to his fart pipe. Anyways, we tell him good luck and we get in the car and before he walks in with his girl I look over and tell him "Hey Matt, this is what full exhaust and 4 more cylinders sounds like. And I opened up my full 3" no cat and edelbrock TES Headers exhaust and it just roared. He looked at me like "whoa" and waved. LoL.

I uderstand where you guys are coming from..... with the barettas/civics and aleros and what not. But dont underestimate all the imports out there. I was in my Bros eclipse GSx this weekend and couldnt believe the amount of f-bodies and mustangs that got their a$$es handed to them. Sure civics with **** can pipes are one thing but some of these kids are hitting 11's and lower in these lawn mower powered cars....lol.

My buddy has a beater @ss 1g talon that I garentee will run with the fastest cars from this board. He pulled low 11's last year before his rebuild and is looking for high 9's this year.

I used to visit my Bro down in Tampa before he moved back and the Import scene is huge down there. Every civic, VW and toyota is running like 20 pounds of boost and hittin 11's like nothing..

I guess its funny to pick on the ricers with the goofy spoilers and rediculouse body kits...just dont bitch and moan and make excuses when one of them walks the he11 out of you....lol

Hey, if he is fast, I have much respect for him. But I wasn't talkin about turbos was I?
There is actually an Eagle Talon GST that I really like in town. His exhaust actually sounds good and I like that blow off valve.

To me a ricer is someone who makes their car looks fast when it is not. I however do respect an import with body mods, if it has a better suspension, breaks, and can actually accelerate decently.

BTW I just rented and watched a DVD called "Fast and the Fearless". I avidly collect car video's, so I watch all I can. Sadly as I suspected this DVD was mostly rice. It was pretty crappy IMO. It was only 1 hour. Nearly half of the video was dull, like talking to a cop after he broke up the racing scene, or talking to some guy about what happens there...etc. So there was about 30 min of decent racing, yet they still couldn't get a decent camera angle (due to the giant mass of people there).
I say if your gonna sell a DVD, get more than 1 nights(1 hour? Please) worth of footage, and get a FRIKKING DECENT CAMERA ANGLE!

There was a nice race with a 1st Gen Camaro, and one with a Z06 beating a surprisingly fast Civic.
