My stock 94 s10 vs. friends 4.0 jeep
last sat. night me and my friend raced. i was driven my 94 S10,4.3, 5 speed bone stock and my friend was in his (non street legal) Jeep Comanche 4.0 ,5 speed stock as well.(the pick up truck kind of jeep). both trucks reg. cab and short bed.
i had 1 person w/ me and all the windows down and he had windows up and no1 else lol.
we did it from a 15 roll and we went on my 3rd honk. 3rd honk we both floor it...its even...i reach about 4100 RPM's and BARK into 2nd(w/ slight wheel hop...damn pick up trucks). mid-way through 2nd im pullin away...4200 comes up...BARK as I go into 3rd....still pullin...4100 comes...CHIRP into 4th (no joke, passenger heard it as well) and i keep pullin and we shut it down about 75-80 w/ me having about 1 truck length on him.
kinda pointless on an F-body forum...but it was fun! lol.

As an owner of a 91 GMC Jimmy S-10 with the TBI 4.3 I can relate to that. I have a 2WD truck which weighs a lot less than the 4WD trucks of the same vintage. It actually MOVES when you nail it from a stop. Spinning the right rear tire and everything. Only the later 200HP 4.3 Vortec 4WD trucks can keep up from the dig. Above 60 MPH they kinda walk away from me, their weight disadvantage having been overcome at that point.
Old non-HO 4.0L Jeeps are easy pickins' for the "stealth Jimmy." Anything from Jeep with 4WD and solid axles front and rear weights a ton (or two). The later 4.0 HO-motored trucks are a tougher run with their ~190HP and really stout torque curve.
