My 96Z vs EVO then 97Z
My 96Z vs EVO then 97Z
So I'm on my way home from work crusing on I10 when I see this nice blue EVO coming down the on ramp. As I watch in my mirror, I see him weaving through traffic and as he catches up to me, he slows to my speed and cruses along side looking. We were crusing about 75mph so I shifted to 3rd and we both punched it. I got a small jump but he caught up quick. We were side by side to the top of 4th when I started to pull a little. When I hit 5th I pulled a little more and when we shut down around 130, he was at my door. I can't say I was the winner but it was a nice race. The guy gave me the thumbs up and dropped back. Those things are fast.
When I get off the FWY on to HWY 90, coming out of the gas station is a white 97z28. I have seen this guy around and his car sounds and looks nice so I figure he has at least some exhost work done. When I tried to cruise up next to him, he keeps going faster trying not to let me catch up so I down shifted and caught him anyway. When I pulled up next to him, he punched it. I was in 3rd at 55 and jumped away quickly putting about 1/2 car. When I shifted into 4th I started pulling on him really good and by the top of 4th, I was a good 2 cars on him and he shut down. I dropped back thanked him for the race and we both cruised into town.
These were my first races after the trans re-build and it shifted sooooo smooth.
