Because a good set of heads, intake manifold, lifters, rockers, cam, custom exhaust, 1 5/8 headers, electric water pump, electrical fan assemlby, standard tranny, and some wider tires, should *technically* put me way over the 300hp mark, I'm just trying to be conservative.
Oh ya.. and I have seen 250hp third-gen Camaro's hit mid 13's. That would around 104mph territory. Now add another 50+ hp to that equasion, and what do you get? Well honestly I dont know but a lot better than *mid* 13's and 104mph.

haha you think 13.53 is the best time I'm capable of in my car? That was my first time with at the track. Might I add middle of June 90 degree conditions and humidity. So your car has at least 300hp? What did it come with stock 160hp? What are the specs on your cam? Carb?

Sorry I'm just interested in how you're going to stomp my 300whp in a heartbeat......

Since you're feeling so confident in your cars horsepower, why don't you go race a M6 LS1 from a roll (good way to compare power) and get back to us.

Well seeing as though in 3-4 weeks my T56 is going in, followed by an LT-1 3:42 rear end, I would be more than happy too race an LS1 from a roll.
I won't disclose any more info on anything, but I forgot to mention that I have an aftermarket carb, HEI distributor, some *minor* weight-loss, and several suspension upgrades.

Oh I had a pretty close guess.... 155hp @4200rpm- F-body.org

You know it's funny putting all this work into the a Mighty LG4.... I would have sold you a LT-1 (285hp) for a $100 and you could have put a carb intake on it........

All this 3rd gen talk reminds me of my friend that has a '86 trans am. His car came with a 305 and with some minor mods he ran 16's at the track. He then ripped out the 305 for a 350 which he put cam, intake, carb, headers, 3.73, and small converter like 2400. Now he runs mid 14's and my old car would walk it.

Looks like we'll just have to be waiting for some times from 85 305

A heavily worked 350 (like you mentioned) only running 14's is absolutely absurd. I dont know what happened, but that's crazy stupid.
And yes, those time-slips are being waited for unfortunatly.

Oh ya, and the reason I am modding my 305 is because of cocky LS1 owners

That is NOT a heavily worked 350. I had the same combo in my 85 firebird with a looser convertor and it ran a best of 8.50 something and 8.80's fairly consistently at around 80 MPH. That translates into maybe mid-high 13's in the 1/4 and probably a fairly crappy trap speed of 103 or so. Even with a cam, intake, headers, carb, and all that s**t the stock heads will severely limit your power output. I even had home-ported TPI heads on mine and it still ran about the same as a stock-headed 350.

I'm sure your combo will run fairly strong, but even with heads and everything else I just don't see you keeping up with an LS-1 from a roll or even a dig. Unless your car is extremely light you'll probably need ~350 HP at the crank to equal an LS-1, and from what I've experienced the 305's inherently don't breathe well up top due to their small bore. Keep us updated.

Re: My '94 Bronco (again) vs a new Ford F150

Hello Izzy, long time no speak
And I personally believe that anything more than just intake/exhaust, and *sometimes* heads, is "heavily worked" I actually had some proffesional work done to my stock heads, which can in-fact be made to flow VERY well for stock heads, but I am selling those as I have some after-market heads to put in place of them. My car weighs about 3200 lb's, so it is relatively light. I don't have any worries about my car breathing up top due to my combo, but thanks for the concern man

Yo Matt! Hey I believe you will have a VERY strong 305 on your hands, but it's gonna be tough to beat a LS1. I have drove them things at work, and let me say, they **** and get. Slams you in your seat like a mother. I never say never though. Good luck brother.
