My '94 Bronco vs '94 Escort.

Specs: 11 year old work truck w/ a 170k mile 351 with an auto tranny, vs a '94 Escort with a 4-cylinder and a standard transmission.

Race one: Center road. Jeremy is in front, and floors it (The Escort). I follow suite. About 65-70mph, I start gaining on him. By 80mph, I am passing him in the other lane. Now, I relize that oddly enough my low-hp, hi-torque truck won up top. NOW comes my *real* strategy. A race from a stop. Right in front of my good friend Eric's house. Exactly a 1/4 mile race. First race, I launch real good, jeremy spins the crap out of the tires. By the 1/4-mark I am probably 4-Bronco lengths in front of the Escort.
Second race, I launch really crappy, Jeremy launches like a champ. He takes me by a foot, the almighty Bronco goes WOT, and all 330ft/lb's of torque all before the 2600rpm mark kick a$$. Serious a$$. I pull on jeremy like no tomorow. He is behind me, his front tires at my rear bumper. By about 65-70 mph, I see full-blown headlights in my rear-view mirror; I have this ****. By the 1/4 mark, he is again probably 3-4 Bronco lengths behind me.

Have you guys forgotten the 'run what you brung' rule?

If that's what he was in, he had fun, read it and move on. No need to make a negative point...

This section has been fairly quiet as of late. Any street racing action is better than none.

maybe its just me, but racing around in a 2 ton plus ,170 thousand mile "work truck" might not be the safest thing for motorists and pedestrians alike.

That's a horrible motto. Some cars are not meant to be raced. Just because someone owns an 89 Honda Prelude doesn't give them the right to burn around town thinking they are Vin Diesel.

^ Your right. And that's why I use my 11-year old 170k mile work truck to shut them up

Dude who cares about your *life* anyway? Well, besides perhaps your mother and *maybe* God himself, but other than that you have anything to show for it?? Maybe if YOU posted a kill story and stopped whining because you are probably that whiner-a$$ honduh fanboy I killed about 3 months ago
