It's not just the power it gains, it's where it gains the power. Power under the curve goes up dramatically. And yes, it does gain .5. I've installed Stage 1 on three seperate cars (two 03s and one 04). Have you?

When you guys test 100s of cars per year, correct them all to standard and drive them all with the same style, and post all the times for the world to see then you will have room to dis the magazine times.
powershift---motor trend does, c/d ?, r/t ?... i don't get c/d nor do i get r/t anymore, but if i'm not mistaken c/d actually states how they get the times they do ("we lift during shifts" rings a bell) on the page that they list the "cars we have driven" page... i too read a lot of car mags, get like 8 or 9 each month (autoweek helps bring up the #)... but most mags will beat the livin' sheeeeit out of the car and then post the best time they get (g-tec or real 1/4mile times)...

most people here just avoid magazine racing as times are really going to different from state to state, or track to track ie. altitude, humidity, temp, crappy track... bla bla...

It would appear that you are full of it in at least one if not BOTH of these posts. So, since you contradicted yourself...care to tell us which one of these is accurate?

I've seen dyno tests before and after with this mod. It is about 15 whp across the board. I've also raced this guy with a bone stock '03 SRT-4 a bunch of times before and after his Stage 1 upgrade. The upgrade was barely noticable, maybe 1 or 2 carlengths ahead of where he would have been w/o it. And don't tell me this guy can't drive, because he drives very well.

All three cars that you did this on lost an average of .5 in the 1/4 mile? You've more than earned a nice big fat

Does Motor Trend powershift, now? They didn't used to. Car and Driver says they don't. Yeah, GMHTP, MMFF, etc. beat the hell out of the cars to achieve the times they do. Not something most owners would do.

That's the beauty of the magazines doing corrections to the #s. It makes them very comparable.

Hey Steve Y are those really your only mods? Did you race the SRT-4 from a roll afterward? Your kill on one from a stop is believable, but I have to say the SRT-4's are a bit quicker than any of the PI 4.6 GT's Ive raced from a roll. Most of my pull on him was below 65-70 after that it was a slow inch. I have to admit that thing put up quite a fight for being stock.

Hey *******, care to point out where I contradicted myself?

1) 2004 SRT-4s do NOT come with Stage 1.
2) There are people other than myself that have SRT-4s, and they asked me to put Stage 1 in their car because of my mechanical inclinations

Now go sit in the corner.

The 04's come with the bigger injectors, which for an 03 is packaged with the ecu.The stage 1 for o4 is only the ecu.

There are some quick srt's out there and by the look of the forum members there will be more.

Where did I say I beat one from a stop? I lost to him by 1 or 2 cars from 0-80 when he was stock. I lost to him by 2 to 4 cars from 0-80 when he had the Stage 1.

Oh I misread it then. I thought you said you beat him by 1-2 cars

Wow, I misread your post. I'll bet that you've never done that before. Way to stay mature about it. I guess you really showed me.

Then I apologize for the implication. I misunderstood you....plain and simple. However, you still could have handled yourself a little more respectively.

thank you... thats what i was trying to tell them.

and to the guy who called me a magazine racer for knowing the stock times of the 03 and 04 models...

i'd rather be a magazine racer than just pulling numbers out of my ***.

It helps to magazine race when you pull at a light, and 95% of the time know exactly how quick the car is.
