Is anyone reflashing ECUs for you guys yet? Are there any piggybacks or stand-alones EMSs?

Maybe a .1 to .3 reduction in times. I raced an '03 SRT-4 five times stock and 5 times with the Stage 1 upgrade, this was the same car. The difference was barely noticable, like 1-2 carlenghts from 0-80 mph.

No reflashing as of yet, but there are piggybacks.

Then something was wrong with either the car or the driver. Stage 1 is typically good for .4-.5 and 2-3mph.

P.S. it also allows full boost in 1st gear, instead of 8-10psi. It's a BIG difference.

Maybe so. I was racing him at 4000 feet elevation. I don't know if that has an effect on the output of his Stage 1 upgrade. These SRT-4s sure are a heck of a bang for the buck!

I gotta disagree with you here Steve. $500 is not a great buy for 20 hp (on a turbo car), but you also get injectors if I'm reading it right. That opens up room for a whole bunch more hp. I need injectors for my Z to go above 425 hp or so.....they're $165 a piece!

Since when does 15 whp equal a gain of that much? Motor Trend tested an '03 and '04 SRT-4. The '04 has the Stage 1 from the factory right? They got a 13.9 at 101.9 for the '03 and a 14.0 at 102.7 for the '04! So they lost a tenth with the Stage 1 upgrade and the limited slip.

Big Red Jim said it was $369. That is a good deal for injectors, etc. Not a good deal for 15 whp on a turbo car. You could probably add more than 15 whp to that car with a $3 aquarium valve.

nah man, the 04 is faster than 03. Everyone knows that. 04 models come with the injectors that you get on stage 1. I don't think the ecu is set up exacty the same though. But actually the 03 srt-4 according to car-stats.com could only hit 14.2 in the quarter. They don't have 04 model listed, but on srtforums.com people have hit 13.9 stock, and some rare 13.8 stock runs.

The difference is evident.

magazine racer... NICE!!!

guess that brings the ? of how do you drive your car @ the track? motor trend power shifts (gas never comes off the floor), and they slam it into the next gear, they also don't always test @/on a real 1/4mile test track and they use a g-tec when they are not @ a 1/4 mile race track... just fyi... magazine racer, classic....

Sue me, I read magazines. I've also been going to the track (at least once a month) and racing for 15 years.

Yeah, maybe .1 or .2 seconds and 1 mph.

I do not powershift. I don't think Motor Trend, Car and Driver, or Road and Track do either. GMHTP and MMFF certainly do though! You guys all dis magazine times, but they are right on to real world times at the track, given the same weather conditions and driving style. When you guys test 100s of cars per year, correct them all to standard and drive them all with the same style, and post all the times for the world to see then you will have room to dis the magazine times.

Steve, I think it's great you've been racing for 15 years and that you read magazines. But you don't know the first ****ing thing about SRT-4s if you think Stage 1 gives 1 tenth.

I said the difference between the '03 and '04 SRT-4 is about .1 or .2 tenths and about 1 mph. The Stage 1 does not give .5 seconds on average like you said! Sorry, 15 whp will not give that car .5 seconds. Probably nearly nothing on street tires (but higher traps).
