Mach 1, AWD Talon TSI and a modded Eclipse..

Well, i raced my buddys 04 Mach 1 the other day, and this time it was dry out. We went from a stop and a 20 mph roll and i put about a car, car and a half on him both times. I give him credit though, that thing is fast. Then yesterday i was filling up at the gas station when some kid i know pulled in with his AWD talon and 2 of his buddys, 1 had another talon and the other was a modded turbo eclipse. I raced the AWD talon first from around a 10ish mpg roll and totally killed him. Then the eclipse from about the same speed and killed him too. They wernt really worth mentioning but im just excited the kill list is growing. Scared the crap outta my buddy too. My next mission is a 04 S/C cobra and some N/A cobras(just because they killed me stock)

Nice kills man, I went head to head with a new Mach 1 and lost by a few car lengths, of course he was running 12.8 quarter miles with ease. Did the Mach 1 have any mods? Nice to get some DSM's on the list too. So whats the next move with the Z after rear gears?

What you running in the 1/4 mile? I also had a modded LT-1 that ran 13.30's. I also just bought a Mach 1 and ran it for a 13.30 @ 106 mph. I am telling you these Mach 1's are wicked with only a few bolt ons. My buddy ran a 12.50 in his Mach 1 with an exhaust,4.10s,Predator and DR's.

Nope, it was a stock Mach for all i know. Unfortunatly i dont think im going to even do gears. Im going to pay off my loan this summer and next winter im going to do H/C from Lloyd, 12 bolt, some suspention and a street twin clutch. I want a 10 second daily driver, ofcourse on the bottle but 11's on motor. thats my goal. As for what i runs now im hopeing for high 12's which was my goal, wish i would of went with the cc306 but hey, what can ya do.

Re: Mach 1, AWD Talon TSI and a modded Eclipse..

Interesting races there SS.I am curious as to how my 96z28 vert will do this year.Last year it only got 14.3 at 96mph with a 2.18 60ft but its quite a bit heavier than a standard z and our track is 1900 feet so correct that would have been about 14.0 at 99mph.I had magnaflo catback and 3.42 gears and CAI and tb bypass, airfoil, maft. The car ran 15.0 at 94 with the 2.73s and stock catback.!!
So you should really pick up with some real gears betting 3 to 4 tenths.

This year new mods are 2800 vig another must have for auto cars,an asp underdrive balancer ,same cam as you ,1.6 pro mags and zex wet kit.
I plan on headers next year likely some macs and some le2 heads or something similar.I am pretty sure she will be pretty fast after all that but not sure what to expect for times.

I also have a highly modded up 92 talon awd turbo and just bought a 97 awd turbo which will be also heavily modded. You were smart to race those talons and eclipses from a roll.I can wipe out most cars in my 92 from a stop and even with a slipping factory clutch can rip off 2.0 60fts all day. With a decent clutch 1.6 60fts are possible on street tires.! Stock talons are not that strong but with few mods they can keep up or beat a mildy modded lt1 and for sure stock ones.To get huge power you need to swap turbos and get bigger injectors, fuel pump and intercooler and tuning of course. But they can be made stupid fast ..500 even 600 plus hp is doable for not that much bucks.
I put about 3000 US into mine and no stock or near stock lt1 or even ls1 can hang from a stop or roll. And if your wondering the recipe..fuel pump 100 bucks, injectors 350,adjustable fuel reg 150,500 hp turbo 899,maft 250
3 inch gm maf 150,intake 100,catback 500,downpipe 250,intercooler 450.

Of course our cars can also put out similar power with heads/cams/headers and spray or turbos or supers.

I really hope to see low 12s on spray with my vert this year or possbily high 11s but that won't be at the track for more than one pass since don't plan on putting a rollbar in the car.
The 97 should also hit low 11 to mid 11s and 10s with a 75 shot or so.
Might have to have my buddy drive my vert against my 97.
And also have a 99 ta ws6 that am thinking of turbo kit for they have some sweet turbo kits right now for the ls1 cars.

Re: Mach 1, AWD Talon TSI and a modded Eclipse..

Nice cars 80TA. I would of thought your vert would of been in an easy high 13 with your mods. As from raceing from a roll, thats about the only thing i can do. I tryed launching twice on my stock clutch and ended up smokeing the hell out of it. It actually filled up my car with smoke! So i dont do that anymore. As for tonite, its a verry nice day and as of now we have a nice mix of cars meeting up. Their shoulld be about 8 of us, mix between camaros, mustangs and various rice. I will try and have my camera man with me to get it all on video.

Re: Mach 1, AWD Talon TSI and a modded Eclipse..

I didn't have the cc305,or 2800 vig or asp pulley in last season and my track is 1900feet so that is like three tenths lost.My vert raceweight is 3800 and didn't use my nitto drags properly ,they were brand new and had whiplash and couldn't really back up into water box and stuff.I just ran them without heating them up.So best 60ft was a 2.18. Heck a older 70s mustang beat me by a few tenths and only got 2.0 on his et streets..track was garbage that day..well every day.no 330 ft of concrete and no track prep.

If I can't hit a mid thirteen with my new vig and pulley and mabye a 2.0 60ft on some old bfg drags that buddy is selling me I will be pissed.I know I should get some 12s on my spray. But of course under 13.5 at track is rollbar time and not putting one in the ragtop. So its track days are likely numbered.
