Lt1 vs LS1

My car, 96 z28, A4, 3.23's, loudmouth, slp shorty headers, stock y-pipe, fipk

Buddies car, 00 SS, A4, 3.23's.Has a cutout (was open as well)

Went from a couple speeds, but mostly from a 45-50 roll. We were about dead even from 45-100, stopping at 100. I think had we gone a bit further he would have put a car on me. We are waiting until we can hit the dragstrip to find out my real gains. Just thought I would share

LOL

Way to justify your LT1. HP is HP, torque is torque and a stock LS1 has more of both than your car...even if you are racing up a hill.

I love how every lt1 vs ls1 thread... no matter what the topic is, always goes to the crapper.

Re: Lt1 vs LS1

from the get go any lt1 has always beaten an ls1 ive ever seen

from all the tracks, my brother races his sister all the time...

lt1 vs ls1 lt1 will always win off the line, and also will win on a very steady incline...

and i donno about arazona but around here its not flat by any means, and on a 30% grade hill, the lt1 will do beter

im just saying what ive noticed from around here, the cars ive raced and the races ive been a passenger in...

you may race on flat lands but i race on the streets given to me... and thats part of the race, curves and up hill down hill

See, i disagree. I believe the LS1, will do slightly better versus a LT1 racing up the side of Mount Everest. However, maybe if they were racing on, say a Mount Vesuivus, the LT1 may have the advantage. We need to get a drag strip, right up the side on Mt. St. Helens, and we will really see which engine shines

Re: Lt1 vs LS1

damn my delete key doesnt work on this site for some reason...

ohh well thats besides the point... im just saying what ive seen, ive got my *** handed to me and im not afraid to admit that, im just saying what ive seen... I know my buddys lt1 will pull on the first half of the 1/4 mile on his sisters ls1... but then he gets handed... but i know from experiance that ive beaten one SS up hill, and ive stayed even with a C5... but ive lost a plenty of times to vettes and ls1's

anyhow atleast i dont just race in a straight line

certainly my buddy's best run is 14.0 (headers & exhaust, ram air, torque converter, and shift kit)
and his sisters is 13.3 (just exhaust)so i know the ls1 is faster thats not exactly what ive been talking about but... i suppose maybe i went off topic

lol You don't know what you're talking about. LT1 will always win off the line? Really? Thats funny. Stock LS1s will run anywhere 8.4 - 8.7 in the 1/8 stock where as LT1s typically run 9.0-9.3. The LT1s being quicker down low and from a dig is a MYTH. You will find more stock LS1s cutting 1.9x 60's bone stock than you will LT1s. 3.23 auto LS1s do it on a frequent basis.

Up a hill, down a hill, a stock LS1 is still MUCH faster/quicker than a stock LT1. My bone stock LS1 ran .9 and 8 mph faster than my stock LT1 did. This argument is played out and what you're making really makes zero sense.

I'm not questioning the couple of races you've had, but your statements, in general, aren't true. Of course track times don't lie, are you suggesting they do? If 60' times aren't a good way of measuring how well a car gets out of the hole, I don't know what is.
