Try to stay on track... the ~160K median price was from FOUR years ago, and you're comparing it to TODAYS values. BTW, you're in your early 20s and you own a house that's been appraised at 360K? You're doing very well for yourself.

So what do you call someone who even after he's been told he's wrong, still argues that he's right? No "dude", median is NOT the average household price tag. It's the MIDDLE price tag. Since you apparently have NO idea what that distinction means, I'll give you an example:

Let's add up all the numbers, shall we? 1+2+3+5+9+14+18=52
The average (or mean) of those numbers is 52/7 = ~7.43

The MEDIAN of those numbers is 5. Median numbers are often used when discussing houses and incomes because they are far less skewed by HUGE incomes/values and TINY incomes/values. In the above example, the average (mean) is ~7.4 but the median is 5 --- imagine those were house values and you can see what a different picture the average paints.

I liked it quite a bit. It gave the classic muscle car sound but it didn't drone. Of course, it didn't sound as good as a Mustang, but it was much faster, mod for mod.

example.... ill bet you can find some statistic on traffic in my area.... probably says from 3pm - 6pm traffic is backed up on highway 4..... but reality is... ask jeff... traffic hits around 12:30 - 1:00pm and doesnt let up till about 7.....statistics are a general reference... not a 100% factual documentation... these are the things i can tell you because i LIVE here... i SEE it with my own two EYES... i dont rely on someone else to bring me the info... i live the info... im PART of your census.... doesnt anyone agree that no book or written document could do a justice to living the reality? like war... you hear of war, there are many books, and documents about it... but try to tell what happened to a veteran of that war... and see where it gets you.... You're right to some degree, but it turns out that I have visited the Antioch/Pittsburg area about 6 times. Maybe I'm just not looking for the race issue, but I never noticed what you seem to rail against. The cars there seemed no different than here in San Diego county, but you want to think that your area is somehow "special" -- we'll just have to disagree.

Just because you live there doesn't mean your opinion is any more accurate than a census. It's well known by anyone who's studied it that human perception and recall is very cloudy and subject to all sorts of biases that affect our ability to objectively look at the situation. As a for instance, when you buy a car, suddenly they seem to be everywhere. But the fact is that the numbers haven't changed -- your perception of the world around you has changed. The same can occur with your perception of people around you. You seem to have this deep hated of particular groups of people, so what does this do? It colors your view of the world and you think they're everywhere.

Given that you've argued about what MEDIAN means even after I told you once that you were wrong and you weren't even smart enough to look it up in a dictionary before responding by calling me an idiot for not knowing that median means average, I think your ability to listen to facts and be objective is, shall we say, somewhat lacking. I'll just leave it at that... this particular tangent has gotten way off course.

I was trying to have a simple debate about some stuff, with no hard feelings but you took it personally. I came to the conclusion that we could not resolve the debate, so I let it go, allowing us both to keep our opinions, but you had to have the last word and make a big deal about it.
