lt1 beats mercedes
i couldnt believe it. i am driving down the road minding my own business and i pass a CL 500. i pay no attention and make my next right turn. i see in my mirror this guy come flying around the corner and chase me down. we are rolling next to each other and come up to a light. i really dont know the first thing about the mercedes at this point so i let him go first. scooter floors it. after he is about 3/4 of a car ahead i put it to the floor. the *** end brakes loose / grabs and by the shift to third i am ahead maybe 2 cars. we meet at the next light. again skippy wants to go but this time i am ready. i bring it up to 15 / 1600 and get on it just enough to not loose traction. by the shift to 3rd its more like 5 cars (maybe 6 or 7).
i looked it up on the net and they only make 300 Hp at the crank. its not a great kill but my 10K lt1 was much much faster than the rich guy in the 80K CL500. and he chased me down. hopefully sparky learned a little respect for good ol american muscle.

Don't hate rich people. If they are smart enough, or lucky enough to make a bunch of money, then hooray for them. I hate cocky people, regardless of how much they make, or what they drive.

Yeah the CL 500 uses the relatively low performance 302hp 5 liter V8, n/a... for a car that weighs 4100 pounds I wouldn't expect too great of performance.
I wasted one of those less than a year ago in my GS400 (roughly the same power output but weighs 500 pounds less.
The only people who typically buy the 500s are those who don't care a bit about performance or can just barely afford the 85k dollar new price tag anyhow.
For those who like performance with a higher budget there's the CL55 and CL65 AMG models... 604hp 738tq in stock form. Yeah... you better be driving in a C6 Z06 if you want to show one of those your tail lights from a dig.
