ls1 vs 2006 350z *2 vids*

So a coworker of mine has been talking about how great his car is. Every chance he gets he mentions how its the 300hp model, and what a great car it is. I finally got sick of argueing with him about it and called him out. We agreed to one race from a dig and one from a roll (he chose 40mph), and that we would shut down at 110mph. Anyway the reason you are all here, the vids:

from a dig (I didnt launch, all that squelling is his car) It took me to about 80ish to finally catch him.

and from a roll (sorry it takes so long to start)

Sorry for the ****ty vids its the video setting on a regular camera.

I did, in both. It took me a few secs to catch him from a dig but I walked away on the roll

Good reel, I had one of those throw me a rev today!?!, sounded kinda like a sewing machine-was gonna turn around and throw him a beat, but too much traffic.

Your car should have a hell of a lot more that a 14.0 in it. More like a 13.0

Accounting for his elevation and the temperature that day, 14.0 is about right.

not with his 60 ft times, with practice and better tires the 60s should drop under 2.0.

True, didn't notice the 60' times in his earlier post.

Still, odds are he'll have to do another mod or two to hit 13.0, even if it's just tires.

!Driver Mod.

And one mroe thing, just wanna point out, This goes to show how an LT1 car CAN beat an LS1 car since many poeple on here say its impossible. He even said he couldnt launch it for ****. Seems like over 50% of people I know with sticks cant launch for crap ...

I can agree here. Even from a roll I've lost to a mostly stock (intake and catback) lt1. The guy is a great driver. I need to start spending my time learning to launch. But this is the first 4/5/6 speed car I've ever owned.

Hopefully I'll have another vid with the same guy in a couple of days. Tommorrow night we are rematching because Im tired of listening to him talk about how he "beat me to 80" I'll actually try and launch it this time

Good runs.
You need a video camera with the night shot on it though.
When launching on street tires on the street you should take off like your leaving a red light for the first 2 ft or so then lay your foot down steadily. Dont jab the throttle or you will be all over the place and regardles if he is making only 150 hp he will beat you up until you can regain momentum.
