If you mean that the original thread starter would beat me with his LT1, I agree ... I just didn't know for sure what to expect out of it with the mods it's got ... I've never claimed to be an LT1 "guru" .

It was going to happen, but my car isn't running like I think it should and the guy with the LS1 TA just blew his car up 3 days ago. Now he is talking about a stroker motor, but he has no money so I'm not sure if the car will ever run again

But if he gets his car back together and I get my bugs worked out it will happen.

The post wasn't a "what if" thread, but I didn't want to race him and get beat since he talks so much **** all the time. If I lost I would never hear the end of it, even if it was just for fun. I just wanted to know if he would have a good chance of beating me

 

Ok he didn't actually blow his motor, but thats what he was telling everyone. I went and talked to him and asked him what he was doing and what heppened. He said that he was doing a hard run and about 6000 RPMs he heard a pop through the exhaust and then he lost all power and the car died. Then he pulled the car over and tried to start it but it wouldn't start so he had it towed blah, blah, blah. I thought about it for a little while and then he told me that his mom came over and wanted him to start it and it fired right up, but it was making a slight ticking noise. Then I asked him if he has pulled the valve covers off and he said no. But I figured that it was a broken valve spring since it has a cam and everything else is stock (motor wise)

Sure enough he pulled the valve cover off and it had a broken spring, but rather than replacing all of them with an aftermarket setup he went down to the GM dealer and bought 1 spring

So his car is running again, but mine is still waiting on pushrods and then I'll try to work all the bugs out and have some fun with the LS1

Sorry for the long post, but I felt pretty good guessing the exact problem

 

He's pussn out, I think you have the faster car and he knows it.

 

If mine ran like its suppost to I know I have a faster car, but as of right now it was quicker with the stock motor. I have alot of tuning that needs to be done. Or if its not tuning I just have some kind of problem and on top of that my converter is junk and I need a different one, but I really can't swing it right now, or at least until I know whats up with my motor.
