Another foxbody stang down

Once again, dont kill me for my terrable english lessons lol.
Some background info, guy owns another stang which runs 11.4x, is a smart guy, so no hate towards the stang :P. He never bragged or nothing like everyone else does, we just raced hehe.

He had what I think is a 5.0 in it slightly not stock (kept up with me when he dumped it at 4grand. used to be a 2.3 stang. Has something crazy like 5.23's or something in the rearend.
to the races
First race I won by quite a bit, he just got the car the day before so he was not at all used to it.
second same thing
Third, he dumps it at 4 grand, and its a race all the way to the finish where I win. Gave him a fender off the start I guess (thats what he said)
Was fun races, cool guy to. turns out he was hauling a spare tranny in the trunk :P
Next time we race ill have the 3.73's in and he will have some new tricks to.

In your paragraph you mention a stang running mid 11s. Is this the stang? or does he have more than one?

lol kinda a funny question, he has more then 1. With my mods in sig its kinda Obveous(omg my spelling blows) that I would not beat the 11 second car.

I was really curious because you said it was kinda loaded down with a tranny in the trunk and such. Even an 11 second car with that kind of weight would suffer greatly. Not meaning to sound funny in my questions to you, just trying to understand.
I know you look into my sig and see a 5.0, but I also own a 97 LT1 fully race prepped TA. I have also built and sold 3 other LT1s and 3 LS1s. Not to mention a few 4.6s and another 5.0 so....(breath)
With that said I think it was a good kill and know very well what the LT, LS cars are capable of.
Yours is definitely capable.
Good kill

Hehe never noticed you had a 5.0 but I do now :P, Is a tranny really that heavy to shave 2 seconds off his time?

Probably more like .2 or 2 tenths of a second. Tranny prolly weighs close to a couple hundred pounds. Same affect as if he had an extra passenger. Not as bad tho bc the extra weight in the back probably helped him get a little better traction. He was probably giving up about 2 car lengths with the extra weight.

T5 is 75 lbs, TKO/3550 is ~100 lbs. Those are the most common trannies in 5.0 Mustangs, so while that would have slowed him down a little (perhaps a tenth, at most), it would be far less than if he had a passenger with him. And if you have to have weight in the car, the trunk is a pretty good place for it.

Of course, this isn't the stang that he raced, so its all rather irrelevant.
