H/C LT1 Got beat by a stock E55
I have to say that I'm totally impressed with Mercedes. It was a 2005 E55 that was totally stock. From 60 to 130 he pulled a car on me which is pretty fast considering my car runs 113 in the 1/4 mile...He could have had his grandma in the car and it would have been so smooth she wouldn't even know she was racing, but I guess that's what $80k gets ya.
My hat is off to Mercedes for building one bad-*** car.

They did a changover from a S/C V8 making 469hp/512tq to a bigger N/A V8 with more hp and less tq...I don't remember what year they changed but the S/C car is very fast...My friend in FL has the S/C one and it is just insane for a 4 door family car...He runs 12.30s at 117 bone stock and so quiet you wouldn't think its running...and from a roll, forget it...I won't mess with him from a roll...He tops out at 190...all without spilling his martini...

The blown E55's run pretty hard considering these things weigh over 4,000lbs.
The automatic tranny in them is efficient, and more "sporting" drivers can shift in clutchless manual mode.
Great cars...the only thing out there that can compete is either another class of AMG car or the M5. GM is making good progress with the STS-V, but so far, they haven't quite hit the mark.
Anyway...good story.

nice cars!
Yeah...but it seems like all of them are never in the same place at the same time.
The Buick is in storage. The Cobra is at my buddy's shop in Jersey City. The TA, GT and E55 are home right now. Someday soon.
