More like a sucky driver. Crappy video as well after all of that buildup.

Don't even bother trying to defend that stupid thing now!!

What kind of world is this in which someone with a ~350 HP car doesn't need to be too worried about a ~500 HP car?? I know what a 500 HP F-body or 'Vette would do against a stock (350 HP) LS1 .

with all the gauges on the pillar, i expected the t/a to be boosted or n20 and run better than 13

GT500 trapped 5 mph faster. We don't know things like altitude, DA etc. It's apparent that the GT500 driver has no skill And I would still take it over the TA or a Vette any day of the week.

I know they are capable of better times, but I have seen and heard of more 12.60's-13.20's out of those things. I don't care what anyone here says, they are NOT at all impressive for the 500 hp. I have seen a stock 505hp Z06 Vette, and it ran 11.02 @ 126. Btw, 113 trap? That sucks ***** for 500hp.

As I said, we know almost no details about the race. Anyone who pays 70K for one is an idiot though.

Well, I have seen several go for 60k+, so I don't know about everywhere else.
Maybe heat, I don't know. I wish I knew more details about the race as I would expect both cars to go faster than they did. GT500 is way too heavy to get great times out of stock.

i dont think that matters. i consider myself an ok driver to my cars ability. i run an 11.87@118 yet i see people pass me at 11.56@111 because of my sucky 60' times but a losss is a loss. in anything over 1/4 mile id smoke a lot more people, but thats all shoulda, coulda, woulda

The ZO6 weighs almost 1,000 lbs. less and is waaay more aerodynamic. That's definitely to be expected. A 385HP ZO6 will hang with a GT500, HP aside.

But I do agree with the rest of you, $70K is way too much for something MOST people can't tell the difference from a regular Mustang for.

Yep, and 3-4 years from now, I'm gonna pick one up off one of these guys for $20k.

I sure HOPE it traps faster!! And yes, given that trap speed, he should have been into a 12.xxx at least. Obviously the driver was at least half of the equation.

Why would you expect the TA to be faster?? Buddy puts some A-pillar gauges and you expect it to be faster?! (contrary to Ricer belief, appearance mods don't = HP!! ). He ran 13.0 @ 108.x ... looks like a good performing, perfectly stock LS1 to me ... "maybe" gears, and that would be it.

And yeah, it's quite clear that the weight of the GT500 is what kills it ... and that's exactly the point ... it KILLS the car!!! THAT is why it SUCKS!!

Ditto .

Ok Scott ... just stop right there before you come out with any other stupid remarks!! Is the GT500 > TA?? That's debatable. GT500 > 'Vette??
