I know they are capable of better times, but I have seen and heard of more 12.60's-13.20's out of those things. I don't care what anyone here says, they are NOT at all impressive for the 500 hp. I have seen a stock 505hp Z06 Vette, and it ran 11.02 @ 126. Btw, 113 trap? That sucks ***** for 500hp.

As I said, we know almost no details about the race. Anyone who pays 70K for one is an idiot though.
I know we know nothing Scott, but come on, I have seen some un-happy GT500 owners themselves. They just don't perform for what 500hp should. One thing I can say is that I lived in Tucson after getting out of the Corps, I was in Yuma for 8 mos. before that, and I can say it is fing hot there! That could've played a factor? Well, I have seen several go for 60k+, so I don't know about everywhere else.
i dont think that matters. i consider myself an ok driver to my cars ability. i run an 11.87@118 yet i see people pass me at 11.56@111 because of my sucky 60' times but a losss is a loss. in anything over 1/4 mile id smoke a lot more people, but thats all shoulda, coulda, woulda

But I do agree with the rest of you, $70K is way too much for something MOST people can't tell the difference from a regular Mustang for.
Buddy puts some A-pillar gauges and you expect it to be faster?!

). He ran 13.0 @ 108.x ... looks like a good performing, perfectly stock LS1 to me
