Talking First races in the new pig tonight!

These races took place on a private track.

I was pleasantly suprised. I sold a 95 Eagle Talon with a 16g and supporting mods, and replaced it with this car.

Tonight I raced someone that I've raced before on numerous occasions with the Talon.. And I'd always beat him from a stop, but from a roll he'd always have the edge. It's a Jetta 1.8t with the works. Upgraded turbo, and lots of supporting mods. Anyway, like I said, in the talon he had just the slightest edge, like, less than 4 feet after a 50mph gain or so. Pretty quick car because the talon was no slouch. Tonight, I raced him from a roll in the new pig, and it was no contest. I just walked away. From a stop it was even worse.

I think this thing might actually be a little faster than the talon was, which is very suprising. I thought for sure that the Talon was a decent amount faster than this Z28.

I'll have to do more testing to be sure, but I'd say it's definately a noticeable amount quicker.

I also raced a new style Stang GT. He was from a roll but fell way back. had at least an exhaust, not sure what else. It was pretty much a joke. I was again pleasantly suprised.

That's all, just felt like sharing.

A 16g'ed Talon should do better than the 100-ish mph traps a stock LT1 will do. "16g and supporting mods" implies 105-110 mph traps at least. Did the Talon ever visit the track? If it also trapped around 100 then it would explain why the Z28 is faster, especially from a roll.

I took the Talon to the track once with the stock T-25 and just intake, 17psi, upper IC pipe, and 3" exhaust. I ran a measly 14.9 @92 or so I think.. I was also new to standard cars.

I never went to the track with the 16g and other mods.

And like I said, I was suprised. The Z28 is stock and after tonight I believe it is faster than the Talon was. Weird...

Antz97ZNJ - the car is stock, just picked it up a couple weeks ago.
