Re: factory freak?

I wouldn't dream of messing with him at all. This car isn't my first rodeo in the sports car world, and if you knew ANYTHING at all, some cars are stronger from the factory and some are weaker, you should know that. Hell, my old '91 GT had longtubes, and 3.55's and it ran consistent 13.8's @100mph on 17" Nitto's on a stiff suspension. Driving has alot to do with it, as I can, and do drive my cars aggressively..but there's a difference between "Driving" and "Abusing". I've had a cam'd ls1 t/a, and I have been beaten by cars with fewer mods, it just happens.

^ Some cars run better because their in better condition/tune. I think the variances from cars right off the assembly line would be no more than 10-15 HP.

I would think its more to do with the driver.

And that is for sure, without doubt, the best times I have seen for one of those stangs with those mods ... Maybe your just a good driver. Cause the trap speed is awful low for the ET.

Re: factory freak?

Couldn't tell ya. It's all in the launch though as I said earlier in the thread, the car is a monster from a dig. Catch me from a roll and it's not too impressive. My roomie has a lightning that ran a 13.6 with a K&N, and he's now got a cat-back on it..so it more than likely didn't do a whole lot of difference, but we went about 5 times from 20-30mph rolls and I would walk him til about 80 and that's when he'd start passing me...at 100 I was at his back tire. From a stop it was the exact same outcome, we tried a 50mph roll and that was actually the ONLY race where he didn't end up catching me...he stayed at my back tire.

At the track on sticky tires, it would be a totally different outcome.
