Re: factory freak?

Chopstix,
I have seen many strange things in my time of drag racing, but there is no way that car can trap that mph. I owned a bolt on H/C LS1 tuned and everything and it would only manage 124 mph.

Not being an *** hole to you , but you are really opening up a can of flame bait with these claims. First off its not yours and your just quoting what someone else is posting. Has it ever accurred to you he may have a small blue bottle stowed away in the spare tire compartment?

Of course not, thats what I used to tell all of my CLOSEST friends....then I would spray the hidden system and let every fender lizard at the track crawl all over my bay looking for it. They never found anything and had to take my claims at face value.

Now Im sure Rage will show up on here sooner or later and enlighten us, but until then ....Not buying.

Re: factory freak?

Sorry guys. I rode in RAGEman's car when he still had it. I helped him tune it when it was cam-only (G5X2 - he put that in after he ran those times stock longblock).

Stix is correct. That car was FAST. Because it was LIGHT. It was a stripped down stripper. And he beat the **** out of it. You take a lightweight car, a driver who ain't afraid to drive it, some kick *** weather and track prep, and you'll get those times.

I have some video around here somewhere of his car... Definitely a freak. I couldn't believe it either. Until I saw it with my own eyes.

Re: factory freak?

I can also vouch for this raggedy *** pos car running those times. One thing to know is this idiot stripped the car down to nothing to make it run that fast. there was a seat and a dash in that junk and thats all. I not an fbody guy, as you can see by my screen name, but anyone in Waco will verify this car doing what it did. the car was sponsored by someone also, and he never showed up at the events he was supposed to, ended up parting out the car, selling it and moving. Im sure some of the other guys can get Alan to come on this forum to testify his car going that fast. Im not at all impressed with the car doing what it did myself, but back in the day, that was fast. from what I remember though, it had a 9inch ford in it when it ran that fastest et. The rear end was sold to Nitro Dave, someone plenty of you guys know. He will also testify this car running these times, cause it was worked on many a time in our shop, Again, not impressed here, the car was guted to a bare shell, no bumper supports, nothing under the dash, drivers seat only. Do it stock weight and Ill be impressed

Ahhh, now that makes a little more sence. One thing is confusing though....
It was copied and pasted from his signature earlier in this thread that he is at a race weight of 3200 lbs. Does not sound all that light to me.
Or at least not 120 something mph light.

I realize the car is not mine...Alan "RAGEman" Roskos was a member of our car club. Iam not pulling this off an unknown person off an anonymous website. Go look at what most of the bolt on record holders are running and they all are unbelievable time. RAGE is #21 on the list...I am not quoting the #1 guy

Re: factory freak?

So then tell us.

Is his car 3200 lbs or like the other gentleman stated....gutted ?
Does his car only have a driver seat and serious weight reduction modifications?
If so then he is more modified than you let on.

NOT a factory freak by any means.

Re: factory freak?

if the car is completly gutted and the DA was-300 guess it is believable.
but after he put the cam and gears in, how come he trapped the same?

point is, it is not a factory freak, it is a gutted strip only car.

Re: factory freak?

Thats his RACE weight. That includes him. So even if he was a skinny ****, subtract 150 lbs. Thats a 3050 car weight. And that is including being fueled up. To remove around 450 lbs is pretty impressive. That would be comparable to adding about 50 more horsepower give or take. So basically, he has a pretty good advantage due to weight only. Plus his 60 ft. was probably re-goddamn-diculous. Im sure he was abusive as hell/powershifted it/staged deep. In a stripped down car, its not THAT unreasonable. I mean, its really fast, but I could almost see it, in pefrect conditions.

Re: factory freak?

I was at HRP the day Alan set the record. He only pulled the interior out, set the records, and then replaced the interior back in the car...he had that **** down to an art, lol. Full interior, stock motor he did run deep deep into the bottom 12's at 117-118-ish. Stock gears, and bolt-ons that isn't shabby.

Re: factory freak?

I was there the day he ran the 11.56 @ 121.

Alan and I went back and forth for awhile as to who had the faster bolt on car and we both had the same mods at the time. In fact I made my first pass in my 01' Formula that day just about 30 minutes before he did. I just pulled in off the street and made a pass on my nitto's and ran a 12.4 @ 120 after that run I bolted on my slicks and broke the rear end Then I Alan ran an 11.6x @ 121 then 11.56 @ 121 (on the stock rear end)

I will say that we both had the interiors out of our cars and the weather for the day was THE BEST EVER!!! The DA was actually -1300 and we had a 8-10mph tailwind.

There is no doubt that our cars ran bad *** that day, but it was done with a combination of VERY LITTLE weight and PERFECT weather.

Re: factory freak?

Alan sure was afraid to race me in a off the shelf heads cam intake stang, that layed waste to him the night before, and wussed out at the track the next day, when I popped off an 11.29 slip sliding all aover the place.

Sorry, had to throw it in, a mustang still tapped dat azz

Re: factory freak?

hahaha funny isn't it? Hey steve i spanked one of your precious "cobra"s today. a 99 cobra vs. my 5 thousand dollar bolt on camaro..pretty sad actually my cousin is gonna trade it in for a 99 SS camaro which he shoulda bought to begin with but everyone makes mistakes... I think its funny almost EVERY year since 93 camaro's have outperformed mustangs stock for stock by FAR ...but my girlfriend drives a yellow 94 cobra and its a cute car for her . I refused to put her in a fast car so i bought her a MUSTANG.
