that sucks, but how does anyone know they were doing 180? didnt seem it to me imo

If you were looking a guy is taping the speed and such. i am sure they knew how fast they were going when the bird smacked them. and being on a runway at an airport seagulls are a problem

 

not disputing birds are a problem at airports.....

im sure they do know how fast they are going, but to me, im saying that car looking out the windshield at the white 10 meter strips with the 5 meter break (international striping for distance mark) they dont seem to go by that quick and it doesnt sound like that car is laboring as it would at 180. also they had a running start from the taxi onto the runway. at the 43rd strip they hit a seagull but can stop but strip number 52!?! i wish i had a car that can stop from 180 to a crawl in 135 meters (442.9 feet) i believe 130-140 mph is more like it.

also they show clips of the impact, but a camera pointed at the speedo and they dont show that at all. might have to raise the flag on this one

the old 3M company building ( they shot "the lady in the water" there... side note) near me had a 1 mile airport that people raced on before they tore it up and i seen guys cover that in under 45 seconds without a running start

 

the speed was given by the guys in the car, it wasn't a guess. also they were at the top of 5th. I've taken my EVO almost to the stock redline in 5th and it was ~ 162mph.

 

Does it really f***ing matter how fast there were going?!! That was still pretty disgusting looking (and sounding! ) ... that nice "squishy" sound amidst the quick "splat"!!

... and they certainly weren't doing ~50 either .

Good to know that a windshield will protect from bird invasions!!

 

like capn pete said, dont want to debate this, but Imo it seemed much slower than 180 mph. Look hoe quick he slowed down, and the nose barely seemed to fall which meant he wasnt on the brake very hard. Im thinkin maybe 180 kph, not mph

 

thats originally what i was going to say but thats 111 mph, ill give them credit for going a little quicker, not much

 

It takes 400 feet for a Z06 to stop from 100 mph. It takes over 900 feet from 160 mph. It takes almost a full quarter mile to stop from 180 mph. That's in a Z06 with world class brakes and a helluva a lot more tire than the EVO.

Not even Knight Rider in super pursuit mode could come down from 180 that quickly.

FLMAO! Gotta love ricers. Mototrend puts the Z06 at 100 feet flat from 60-0. There are very few cars in the world that will touch that. Hate to burst YOUR bubble, but the EVO isn't one of them.
