They are tricky to launch your best bet is to get him off a light, grab a stall and some tires. You will smoke him. I def woudltn try him from a highway roll, just the fact alone that you have an A4 and he has a manual puts you at a disadvantage, let alone the 4.6 DOHC breathes pretty good uptop. Gears/CAI/X pipe and those cars fly.

It'll be close, running from a dead stop is your best chance.

i know a guy with a 95 cobra, x pipe, headers, 4.10's, CAI, pulleys, and he dynoed at 270 at the wheels...at the same dyno where my car put down 254 rwhp STOCK ...so unless its an '03 cobra, you should smoke em...wind up the rpms a little off the line (brake and gas at the same time...as much as possible without the tires spinning), lets those 315's work for ya

The 95's are a good bit weaker than the 97 Cobras. I 97 Cobra with headers, catback and the other mods you said that 95 had should dyno around 300rwhp if not more.

ohh...i dunno, im not a stang guy...i just thought it was funny, this guy added up all the advertised gains of his mods, and then claimed like 350 horses at the wheels...then wanted to race me (95 z) and my freind in his '00 ss...we found a time and a place and he wouldnt race...ohh well

Yep,

The 95 Cobra was the 5.0 with 245hp stock at the crank.

96-98 had 305hp at the crank which is no contest to the 95.

LT1 will always feel alot faster then a Cobra (pre 03) (lower rpms) especially one w/ 373's(which is similar to a 273 geared camaro)...those cobras need atleast 430's...If he can drive Ill give the edge to the cobra, he has more power.

Couldn't agree more Ant.

I think the Cobra is under geared. The quicker close to stock Cobras I see all have 4:10 minimum most with 4:30's. I think you have a decent chance though if you can get it out of the hole with out spinning which it looks to me you can.

I have raced a 99 and an 01 in my car at California speedway. The 99 had Flowmasters only and the 01 had CAI and Flowmasters (yellow). The 99 I beat pretty good about 2 cars and the 01 turned a .3 redlight to my .6 so it looked like it kicked my **** but the slips had me with the lower time by 7 hundredths both 14.0's. He also didn't pull on me up top like I thought he would but the difference in R/T's might have made that assessment skewed. I'm not sure about the launch the 99 got but I know the 01 spun a bit which probably gave me some MO.

I hate to go against chevys but I think he has a clear advantage. You could still take him, anything and everything happens on the street. Good Luck!

Dude if you thinking about mods go with a stall converter. I just put one in mine and gained about .5 . Probably the best mod for your money in an automatic. I went with a 3500 stall but I have an LS1 with 2:73. Your best stall may be different.
