Re: Cammed LT1 vs full exhaust 5.0

well, i guess i count the body change from 97 - 98 as another generation, maybe you guys dont see it like that, but i do, it was a new front clip, and i heard the rear window between a 93 - 97, and a 98 - 02 was that the older ones had a slightly larger window, making for an impossible cut for window tint, that it had to be a 2 piece... just what i heard, but the front end is different.... isnt that considered a generation change? all new motor, tranny, suspension, and front clip.... anyone here see my point?

No. The 4th Gen F-body ran from 1993 to 2002. Also, it didn't have a new suspension or tranny (they were carry-overs). It was a minor redesign plus the LS1.

BTW....the commercial featured a black WS6 T/A (not a Camaro) and it "ate" a Ferrari-looking kit car (not a Mustang).

Re: Cammed LT1 vs full exhaust 5.0

I have had both cars, I can say that it is possbile with a good driver & longtubes & a mac Prochamber h-pipe with a set of 4.10 & sticky tires, That yes this can be done, My 93 coupe with pullys & a K&N conical Air filter & 4.10 with BFG DR & Mac Longtubes with a Prochamber was knocking 13.3s @103 all day!

If the guy with the LT1 Spun the tires & lost traction just coming out of 1st gear & in to 2nd & spun again with her hooking up!

Then yeah the guy lost more then likly, On the track, Well that is a diffrent ball game,

The most important part of racing is not how much HP you have , But getting it all to the ground!

Seb,

Re: Cammed LT1 vs full exhaust 5.0

Well, if everyone read it, she said she had exhaust only and she said when she raced her friend they both didnt pull at all, so traction doesnt have anything to do with it really. If LT1 did spin and still held off the stang (kept pace), once the LT1 hit traction it would walk away. She claimed to run even with cammed LT1's when she had exhaust only. Her ignorance continued when she said now they arent a problem because of her b-cam and other little mods. I chimed in.

she doesnt understand anything about anything really. obviously she cant drive like she says she can if shes knocking down 9.7 1/8 times with an exhaust only 5.0. There is a point where you are way outgunned.

Thanks.

There's all kinds of 5th generation speak. Just look it up on google, you obviously already have it.

Here's one of many such 5th generation f-body rumor links.

Yes, the ls-1 trans-am did have a green color option, though I don't think it's a very common color for the ls-1 cars. I've only seen a couple.
