it's not that the vetter couldn't keep up, after the first run he blew few things on his motor. So on the second run the engine wasn't running to it's full potential.

If i had a vette I would not try to race it cuz i cant see spending that much money on a car that can potentially be ruined. but if he has the money to buy it he probably has the money to keep it running strong kinda like Ferrari owners and their $10k tune-ups. Id rather keep my 5k firebird and spend 15-20K to run with the big dogs.

 

that was a good video. nice to see somebody with money wanting to have some fun. it would suck to get beat by something of lesser cost, but look at it this way. you can buy an ls1 car for 10-13k in good shape. with the other 50-55k you have to play with, you can make one hell of a fast and cool f-body. The Z06 is just plain awesome though. looks soo mean and you can't top it when in black.

 

That camaro is on sale on ebay right now, at least it was earliar this week.

 

the z28 has 600rwhp, hes spraying a 200shot. in the first round the camaro had a nitrous bubble. round two, the vettefryed a piston, it had something to do wiht the nitrous not being spray evenly. it poured into one cylinder doing some serious damage. all the facts were posted up on another board. i don't remember all the details, but the camaro guy took his plugs out and posted pics. they were histroy. i will get the link with all the info if i can find it. the camaro is very capable, he's proven it many many times.

the moderators at racingsouthwest.com are being stupid and deleting all posts related to the z06 or the shop that did all the work on it (which dropped sponsorship of RSW), so here's the update:

the z06 melted the #2 piston, and it was bad enough that the block is goingto need to be re-sleeved. the shop is pulling the block as i'm writing this to be shipped off for a complete rebuild. i'm betting the owner will upgrade, he has a buttload of money.
i don't like pointing fingers but a little bird told me that the shop that did the install put the nozzle where it was practically spraying straight into the #2 cylinder. i believe itwas put after the throttle body, but i haven't seen it first hand. apparently the shop doesn't consider that to be a problem so they are just going to rebuild the motor and try again. probably with the same result. be careful who you trust to do your work, this motor only had 800 miles on it and i don't doubt it's the first production ls7 to be blown up in the US.

So now you know why you won the second race termin8r.

p.s. z06 w/ only lt's put down 480. what amount it was spraying has changed from post to post, sometimes they said 100 sometimes 150.

with the shot, i think he makes 412rwhp on the motor? somewhere close to that. within a few hp.

 

Those vids aren't the ONLY times it's been sprayed. Keep that in mind. That car's been through the ringer. IMO he's probably selling it now before he has to deal with any catastrophe's down the road.

 

I heard on another Site that the Z06 melted 2 pistons. only had like 1500 miles on the clock. That gets me all misty eyed by itself let alone getting punkd by a car 60k cheaper. And how about the 2nd view car being a Dodge Srt 4 and keepin up with the ZO6?

I cant understand for the life of me why the race was a big deal if the Vette was having serious issues. I wouldnt be happy with the win. I could go beat up a 7 foot tall retard. Wouldnt make me feel like a tough guy though. Still 2 badazz cars though.

 

think about it.. the z06 runs around 11.5 stock.. with a 100 shot he should be in the 10's and if the camaro walked him..most likely low low 10's.

 

Well in the 1st race the Corvette wins then after that it looses. So it should be clear that it was having problems. So in other words, the Camaro is slower
