Re: bike vs lt1

Any day you want to race that road bus through palomar or up through julian or hell california speedway or the track of your choice let me know......Busa is good in a straight line and thats about it. And not to knock your bike but i kill busa's down the 1/4, mainly because people that own them dont know how to drive them but it will suffice for me! There to heavy. And if were talking power adders, let me add cams and a turbo kit from Hahn Racecraft and ill be sitting at 300 rwhp and alot better handling. you need a wheelie bar to use the power you have..if you dont have one your just wasting money on power you cant use.

All of a sudden you have turned your offering into a race that would be to your advantage against a certain vehicle. I am sure that if one of these cars wanted to race you it would be a roll or a 1/4 race, but now when it's something that will flat out leave you in a roll or is better suited for the 1/4 you change it to your advantage..lol.

You give the typical answer for a person with a litre bike when the Busa vs litre bike subject comes up. It's one of three things, 1. it can't handle, 2. It's fat, 3. it's ugly.

Mod for mod the GSXR1000 will never hang with the Busa. You can come close to the peak HP of a Busa with the same mods but peak is only one spot, it's how you make your power that will be the advantage(and in the GSXR's case disadvantage). I can post a comparison dyno chart if you want to see what I mean. You will also always be at a torque disadvantage.

As far as my bike needing a wheelie bar I don't know where you get this information from. I know many people that race turbo bikes and nitrous bikes in the 1/4 and none of them use a wheelie bar, you are talking almost three times the power I have. My bike is lowered front and rear and never has a problem with wheelies in the 1/4.

One more thing is that you can put a turbo on your bike, that would be great, but you better change some internals otherwise your going to smoke your motor rather quickly. This is another nice thing about the Busa, you can put a turbo kit on a bone stock motor, get 300hp out of it and never have to touch the engine. If you want to get into the engine you are able to get over 500HP, some are even close to 600.

I agree that the GSXR is great in the corners, but from the sounds of it that was not what you were talking about. In a straight line the Hayabusa, with equal riders and the bikes set up the same way, will smoke the GSXR every time. The Hayabusa is not a slouch in the corners, just not as good as the super bikes. I have smoked a GSXR1000 in the tight stuff and been smoked by many 600's. It's all about the rider and if he can utilize the abilities of his/her bike.

As much as I respect both of your bikes, Its time to lay down the law. I have an '04 Razor scooter. Chrome with that little blue rubber Deck-Stripe. Weight reduction (Lean Cuisines for dinner), 1.5" Polyurethane DRs, Nitrous (I do whippets before i race), Big Bore Kit (I work out), and a handleing package (I wrapped some electrical tape around the handle bars).

I think that the best way to settle this is a roll-on from 80mph. Whoever is closest behind me when we hit 120 wins

Sorry, just seems like this is going to turn into a thread-o-fire real soon.

Don't take me the wrong way I'm not pissed or irritated or anything, just stating the facts. Might have sounded like I was getting upset, and that's the ****ty part about the internet, you can't see emotion or hear tone of voice.

I'll race you scooter, but only if you give me the jump.

Busa413 makes a good point. I was just at Smackdown @ Norwalk (OH), and there where a few turbo busas' out there. A lazy launch, and trying to keep the front tire on the ground they where trapping arround 169 MPH. My best time with my 04 R-6 w/slip on was 11.12 @ 126. I dynoed it stock, and it had 103 RWHP with 600 mi on it, so guess 2 hp for the slip on.

First off let me appologize if any of my statements sounded harsh or out of line. They were not meant to. Second, i am not taking anything away from the busa, it is a bad A$$ bike, no doubt. But in my experience let it be on the street or on the track they just have not been able to hang with me. Sure in a straight up drag race i would get murdered, but lets get realistic for a min. People do not buy crotch rockets to drag race, atleast no one i ride with did. Most people like them for there ability to take kindly to the twisties. Now the busa does a good job at this as well but every single time one has tried to race me through the canyons he has gotten killed. Ive ridden them myself and personally i feel this is just because they are to heavy, i honestly did not like it, it seemed sloppy. OH......and i have no clue how the hell you keep your bike on the ground down the drag strip because at full throttle im coming up out of the hole and into second gear and mine is lowered 1" from stock height. So please dont get me wrong, im not bashing the busa, i mean were both from the same family here so that wouldnt make sense anyways. Just from my experience, ill stick with the litre bikes. Oh.....and for an update....a full rebuild from JDM racing and a turbo from Hahn racecraft is in the works for the near future.

Don't worry man I didn't think you were being harsh at all. There are different types of sport bikes and most of the time people buy them for what they are built for, again most of the time. The Busa was originally built for one thing, straight out top speed king, but it just so happens that it makes a great 1/4 mile bike and hell even a touring bike. They are a heavy bike, mostly due to the motor. The motor is actually in a very low state of tune, they don't recommend you run anything higher than regular unleaded and the engine has lots of room for increased cc's, over 1500cc's is not all that uncommon.

The reason your bike comes up so hard compaired to my bike is that; 1, your bike has almost 100 pounds lighter, mostly in the front end. 2. The wheel base is shorter than the Busa.

If I could have two bikes I would most likely have a GSXR1000 along side mine, but for what I do and how I like to ride the Busa just fits me better. It is one of the most comfortable sport bikes out there.

I too was thinking about going turbo over the winter, but have decided not to. I am going to do a lot more drag racing next year and have decided to go with a nitrous setup. The power hits so much quicker than a turbo. When you have a turbo bike and a Nitrous bike lined up with equal power the Nitrous bike will usually walk the turbo bike (due to lag). If I wasn't going to do so much strip time next year I would be going turbo though, much more fun on the street.

Again man, I didn't think you were being harsh at all.
