Coming up the same stretch of highway I was going up last time I raced the '03 Cobra, sitting at the exact same stop light at about 6:45 p.m. There's an older guy in a 96ish convertible in front of me. I hear the distinct note of a mustang with flowmasters. At first I thought it was the guy in front of me and I could see his gray hair and his wife so I figured it wasn't him. Went on about my business driving normally.


Out of nowhere this black 2001 cobra does a fly-by on me. So that's where the sound was coming from. He slows down and does a couple more fly bys then gets about 2 cars on front of me and looks at the front of my car. I see him look over to his buddy, probably telling him it's an ls-1 not an lt-1. LOL

Anyway, I downshift to 3rd and give him a little flyby at about 55mph. No big deal. Then he speeds back up, and lines up with me. I hear him downshift. I downshift to 2nd, and he takes off. I nail it and immediately blow by him, and slow back down to the speed limit, back in 5th gear. He pulls back up and starts yellling things about his car, and what's done to it. Asking about my exhaust, what's done to my car etc. I can't really hear him all that well because he's still in 3rd gear at 60-65 mph. Very loud. I ask him what year it is he gives me the hand signal for 0-1. Okay, 2001. He downshifts to 2nd again. I do also, and this time he honks. 3rd honk we both gun it, but this time he's right next to me. shift into 3rd, bark the tires a bit, and he's still right there. By the top of 3rd I was pulling pretty steadily, however, and by 4th it was all over, I could see him in my rear view, falling fast. I'm guessing he was geared and had a smaller shot of nitrous. Not a bad running snake.

Good kill, it is always good to get a kill when someone sprays on you. Well, if he did.

 

Yeah, I just couldn't hear what he was saying when he was telling me what was done to his car.

 

Sounds like a fast 01 Cobra...good kill
