stock for stock an LT1 against a 99+GT is drivers race no doubt. LT1 against a '05 GT well it is obvious the GT will win. we are talking about a '99 GT Vs. an LS1., both moded. i give the edge to the LS1 period! the LS1 has longtubes and minor boltons and the stang has minor boltons thus the LS1 will win provided it is running right.!

What the **** ever a damn ta has more rwh stock than I do with all my mods so whats your point...He passed me cause I ran out of gear in 4th and let off, what good would it do to shift into 5th.....Your car won't hold a candle to mine what's it run high 15's.....Your probably a keyboard warrior anyway, so you don't know.......

My point is, that a stock WS6 (except for those 3 minor mods you mentioned) took you and your heavily modded gt, and then YOU claimed you won.
Whats my 300 horse 305 run? Deffintly faster than your pos (which isn't saying much, as your pos stock was running near 15's stock as well)

 

gentlemen, common stop complaining about whos car is better and whatnot. fact of the matter is it takes quite the amount of boltons for a '99+ GT to beat an LS1 plain and simple. some GT owners beat LS1's im sure, but a properly driven LS1 against a GT of any year is no contest even the '05 is very close to an LS1 but yet the LS1 should win and i repeat "should" win. and to the above^ i understand that you both think your cars are better, but both of your cars wont "Hold a candle" to most of the cars on this site.... so whats the point? chill out

But, you are very right; neither of our cars would be much of a challenge to most peoples cars on this website. But hey; I'm 17, why would I need more than 300hp

 

IM not gonna flame ya but I will tell ya if you was to take your car with its mods and had ran mine..bone stock..It would not have been a race. With just a lid/catback I beat a Blown99GT with no problem and ran a very close race with a few stock SC'd cobra's. You car should never have been anywhere near an LS1@115 with such a small amount of mods. Im thinking your friend aint much of a driver. Not to mention I beat numerous Bolt on GT's " 99up" With a stock LT1 six speed that had a gizillion miles and I never had a problem. 02 Ram airs are easy 12 second cars and are meaner on the highway then anywhere. So I dont see hopw you could have hung to 115.

 

Also, with your 430 gears your all quarter. You would have ran out of gear long before 115...yet another reason the LS1 should have waxed you.
I think this race was the driver that won..Not the machine. There is simply no way.

 

This is the worst biased people I have ever seen...OH MY THE CAMARO CAN NEVER LOSE!!!!!Give me a break.....All of you guys saying "I've never had a problem" blah, blah, I say the same thing about you LT1 boys..........I see a lot of 13 second times in people sigs so where are all the easy 12 second cars at??? The attitude you guys have is why I bought an underdog mustang 2v, and now I'm spanking z's with it on and off the street....

You would not TOUCH a bone stock LT1, let alone an LS1 w/ a stock GT Even w/ the mods you have I would be damned surprised to see you take a stock LT1/LS1

Honestly though, I was driving a friends LS1 up at a local track up here (LACR in Palmdale) which is pretty high in elevation, and it ran a best of 13.8 on Kumho 712's before we got the boot for no helmet.. Now at this track the NHRA correction is .97 so this worked out to 13.38.. Not to shabby for an M6 stock LS1 with only a KN FIPK and cutout. The car was shedding 10ths like a mo fo before we got the boot too.. Im pretty sure that we could have gotten 13.6 out of it before the night was through if we did have a helmet.

As far as my LT1, well... My 383 was dying, things were going wrong left and right.. I went from 360rwhp to 305rwhp in the course of 10 months.. The fact of the matter is, the machine shop ****ed up and the bearings were getting chewed and the car suffered from MASSIVE amounts of blowby... Even with all these issues, and on street tires, I still managed to absoultly kill a 2000 GT on slicks.. And I do have it on video if anyone wants to see it, I just need to get the tape back from a friend so I can digitize it.

The fact of the matter is, this is a pissing contest that you guys are involved in. I like the stangs, I like the f-bodies.. Both are very nice cars in very different ways. The LS1 is beatable.. Ive beaten many, and been smoked by a few.. Ive also beaten a lot of 03+ cobras, and GT's and been beaten by a few.. They are different animals and a lot of it comes down to the driver or the sheer amount of mods..

Having said that though, I will have to say this, stock to stock, the LS1 should and will win against a 99-04 GT.. The power to weight ratio is FAR better in the LS1 than the stang, as far as stock to stock LT1, I would say that it is a drivers race, unless we are talking an auto stang to manual LT1, then I would give the advantage to the LT1.. Gearing here is far better than that of the stang.

As far as lt1's go I've never heard of one running 12's stock....I run 12 second times, yes my car isn't stock, but saying a stock lt1 will beat me is down right ignorant.....Please post pics of your car, I would love to see it and I'll post pics of both of mine........
