The Camaro didn't just stop in 1998, it got a little better until 02, while the stang was still trailing behind, along with many others. And although it may not seem so, I am not a Mustang hater, I like to get into the rivalry and all but I don't hate. Just the facts, jack. It didn't happen 3 years ago from now. And it didn't happen 3 years ago from the demise of the Camaro.
I see the track times in your sig. Nice goin
. But you're not stock. My comment was made about stock vs. stock.

Completely stock '03 Mach 1's can - and have - run 12.9 - 13.0 with the right driver/conditions. MANY Mach's have run 13.1 - 13.2 (completely stock) in the 1/4-mile.
FWIW, mine ran 13.4 @ 104+ mph completely bone-stock with a 2.19 60' time my 1st & only time running it at the track. A 12.9X -13.0X run shouldn't have been too hard to get with a lower 1.9 - 2.0 60' time.
Sounds to me like they can run with or outrun an '01/'02 LS1 F-body when stock, depending on the driver in each car.
They were released for sale in 2002, which was 3 years ago.
'03 Cobra also came-out in '02 (as an '03 model), and have NO PROBLEM beating any year F-Body with a good driver at the wheel.
Clear as mud now?

But ANY year F-Body? '69 Yenko 427, '69 ZL1 427, '02 Berger SS, '02 ZL1 427.. these would all destroy a Cobra.

Let's compare a extremely-limited tuner car to a normal production vehicle & declare a (lopsided) winner.
Just for ****s-and-giggles - how many '02 427 ZL1 Camaros were made?
How much did they sell for?
How many do YOU own???
and finally - how many of them came down the normal GM line 100%?
Ford made what 25,000 '03/'04 Cobras?

Nor were they regular production vehicles.
Nice try though Junior...

Last time I checked, '69 Yenko, '69 ZL1 427 weren't even F-Bodies.

And this doesn't look like an F-Body?

It's a clone, yes, but a '69 Yenko Camaro clone none-the-less

No such thing as a ZL1 Camaro?
http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...D%26safe%3Doff
It's the one in the middle of the first row

And yes, they were production cars. They were *NHRA ready* cars, actually. Thats why the Yenko came w/ an under-rated 428hp, and the ZL1 came with an EXTREMELY under-rated 460hp.
Sorry, Yenko made more than just Chevelle's and Nova's

EDIT: Come to think of it, a 427 COPO Camaro would kill any year Mustang, let alone the BASE-MODEL 427 Camaro in '69

Re: 2000 Z28 VS Modded 2005 Mustang GT
If you'll check this month's Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords. You'll see a 05 stang on page 217 running 12.20's with bolt-ons in the Factory Stock class...Real slow. You guys and can compare motors all you want but the fact of the matter is, Ford can't build em fast enough. I always laugh when I go to the track. Where are all you guys at? Nothing but stangs at every track you go...

Re: 2000 Z28 VS Modded 2005 Mustang GT
Hey I just looked at My friends page on Cardomain.com and He ran a better time after I left. He ran a 8.78 @ 82.31 and a 60ft of 2.19! It did get a lot cooler after... I called and said congrats on that time.
Its all good cause its all fun...
Ok this was not to be a stang VS maro war. (What about the saleen, what about the zl1 600hp) It was just simply comparing the new mustang with the ls1. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't trade my Z28 but His 05 does look freakin sweet and does turn more heads than mine. Stock for Stock Camaros beat Mustangs, But come on WHO KEEPS THEIR CAR STOCK?????
Here is some pics of the 05 GT

So keep modn, and lets not bash mustangs or Camaros, lets talk about RICE
