2000 SS Vs. Blown 99+ GT
yeah he raced 7 I take that back. He raced a bone stock 93 trans am 6 speed when he had just the H pipe and catback and hosed the hell out of him. Then raced a buddy of ours with a 94 Z A4 with the same combo and the Z had, a flowmaster muffler, 52mm TB, CAI, and they were back and forth but the stang usually took im 2 out of 3 runs. He then raced a 94 formula a4 with headers, catback, 52mm TB, underdrive pulley and CAI and lost by 2 cars. (Forgot about that guy till now) Then he put his gear in and raced a 96 SS 6 speed and walked him pretty good off the line and from a roll. Next was a 95 Z A4 bone stock and he took him by about a car from a dead dig and they were pretty even from a roll which confused me considering the outcome with the SS. Then he put on the rest of the mods I listed before racing anymore LT1's and he came across a 97 SS stock 6 speed camaro and walked the hell out of this guy by like 4 cars from a dead dig. They raced again but the guy in the maro missed 3rd so they waved and went the other way probably because derek was ahead once again about 3 cars ahead this time before the shift miss by the maro. He then raced my buddy's 94 Z28 A4 after he picked it up with Borla cat back, CAI and beat him by about 3 cars. The guy with the last LT1 listed has a 02 firehawk now as well and is wanting a piece of Derek, but he moved to texas for the time being. I don't look for it to be pretty for the GT, considering he dynoed it and it put down 321 rwhp and 333 ft lbs. and he ran a 13.4@106 right before he dynoed it and it's completely 100% stock. The 01 GT's only LS1 encounter prior to the upcoming hawk race was a 01 SS that was bone stock and that guy claimed 13.4@105 and the GT ran about to his door. Only thing is, the 01 GT should have accufab intake and TB, 4.10's replacing the 3.73 (now that he regrets getting 3.73 to begin with) and nitto's on it before the hawk is in town in july cause Derek (01 GT) is looking for 12's with just bolt on's. If he can't achieve that, he's getting cams and shooting for the 12's. So unless the hawk gets some mods.....im not sure on the outcome. Sorry for the long *** post lol.

Thats bull**** about 99+ gt's being fast. Maybe they are just fast where you guys live. Down here, there ****. I raced a bolton, exhaust, bla bla 03 gt and walked him bad. An 02 blown gt at the track best time was 8.4 in the 1/8. I can definatly believe an ls1 SS pulling away from the blown stang. My friends 02 ss ran 8.3 bone stock in the 1/8 And im sure the guy knows what a blower sounds like too. Mustangs are just slow unless a ****load of cash is dumped into them. Otherwise, good race, you would have won easily if you had not had all that extra weight.

A blown gt with a good setup? The 4.6 motors in the gt's are not hardly setup for high boost applications. Now, if they were built right with heads/cam and heavy boost, then i would say that they could have potential. With a stock 4.6 motor you bolt on a supercharger it is not goin to be that impressive, sorry. It still wouldn't take out a bolt on ls1 IMO. Never seen it done before around here consistent anyways.

I was coming home from work at 10:00pm in february and a 96GT came flying by and we caught a red light. No traffic or cars because we were on a deserted hiway. The GT had a supercharger and I don't know what else. Green light and he jumps out 1 car, my tires spin through the top of 2nd gear and he is still one car ahead when I shift to 3rd I begin to reel him in and by the top of fourth his front bumper is at my rear bumper. I shift into 4th and put another car length then he lets off and turns around to the other direction. I have Borla and air lid are my only mods. So supercharged GT's are beatable by lightly modded LS1's. Later Dale

Good death.
And I find it humorous that your being given a hard time for not losing badly enough
And this was a death story so I don't know why people are saying good kill
Maybe they are predicting the results of a rematch without your passengers or against your LT1.

Who cares about the Pre 99GT's.. The Bread and Butter is in the 99+'s
OK dyno graphs don't lie I agree, but running 14 psi on a stock 4.6 single overhead cam motor seems a little overkill to me. Who knows? Basically what im saying is that 14 psi on an ls1 would be more hp than that of the gt. Chevy is better!

There's a BIG difference between the 96-98 GT's and the 99's. Strap a Blower onto a pre 99 and get almost 300rwhp. Strap a blower onto a 99+.. You get around 400rwhp.

With my old stock 2000 engine + Vortech "S" @ 8psi = 343rwhp/336rwtq (automatic).
New engine plus 12+ psi .... who knows
