So i was cruising down the street last night and pass a white Mustang GT on his right w/o showing any interest in racing. We catch a red light and he stops 1/2 car begind me. I was thinking it was because he had no interest in racing either. The light turns green and i hear tires spin and exhaust. Shi*, so i stomp it. He had 2 cars on me and i spun really bad. I get right up to his door by 65mph and he taps his brakes, signaling the win.

We cruise side by side and i didnt look at him once. I was kinda pissed. We catch another light a 1/2 mile ahead. He stops 1/2 car behind me again. This time i rev to about 2 grand. Light turns green, and i step on it. I hear him screetch his tires before my exhaust goes, waa... WWAAAAA!!!! I sit there and spin like i was on wet pavement and he gets a car and a half ahead. I get up to his bumper by 55mph and had to switch lanes because of traffic. I get to his side and hear him yell "thats twice" while holding up to fingers. He gets in the turn lane and i signal over to his left side(two turn lanes). So we're sitting at a long red light and i ask him what mods. Intake and chip, stock exhaust, on 3.22's(?) and A4.

ME: "Nice car. I tried reeling you in but you shut down pretty early"
ME: "Have you taken it to the track?"
HIM: "Yea when i first got her, i ran low 14's"
ME: "What was your trap?"
HIM:<confused look>
ME: "What was your trap speed at the end of the 1/4?"
HIM: "Oh, around 94mph."
ME: "Thats pretty good. My best was around 14.2 and 100mph. Auto's usually eat me up off the line but i catch them by the end of the track."
HIM: "Thats where i want to be around. Nice looking car, i like the 'Vette wheels."
ME: "Thanks. You wanna make another run after we turn?"
HIM: "Nahh...Well sure"
ME:

Light turns green, and i straighten out first but let him hit it. He was a half car length behind when i heard him. Im in 1st ~20mph and mash it. I spin a little in second but by 60mph he's 2 1/2 car lengths behind and he turns off into a strip mall. Im glad atleast got 1 win but pissed that it had to be by roll.

And yes, some sticky tires are on the list but im scurred of obliterating the 10 bolt.

 

THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!! There is no way a Mustang could win. It must have been a 900hp Cobra on MT slicks.

Good runs and yeah you should have beat an auto as they are not nearly as efficient as the 4l60e of the fbods.

Great, now that guy is tellin all his buddies how a GT can out run a 15 year old motor, now what are we going to have to do?
If you woulda known you was racing on the 1st run it may of been a different outcome, I know iv been in races I never knew I was in. The best ones are when the car besides me launches like hell off the line and im just sitting there.
