2 kills and 3 wounded egos
2 kills and 3 wounded egos
I was out for a cruise last weekend and happened across a gorgeous yellow C6 vert. We cruised for about 30 mins until a newer silver Viper, older Stingray, and a primer bodyman's special 3rd gen Firebird joined us.
We casually cruised out of town and onto the perimeter highway. We all pulled over as soon as we were out of the city limits, it was obvious what we were here for.
The Viper lined up with the C6 and raced. By the top of 3rd/beginning of 4th the Viper had about 2-3 cars on the C6 vert. Thats it. Turns out the C6 had exhaust, CAI, and tuning. The Viper driver might have been granny shifting too though.
So next I lined up with the Stingray after he assured me he had work done on his car and it was "very fast". No it wasn't. I have an A4 and at the top of 2nd gear I had over 10 cars on him so I'd guess he was a mid 13 second car.
The C6 vert lined up with me next. He launched very well. I spun like mad half way through first and chirped and spun a bit on the 1-2 shift as well. He jumped ahead of me by 1 car length off the line but by the top of first I had a fender on him. By the top of 2nd I had 3-4 cars on him. by the time he hit 4th I would guess I had 5-6 cars on him easily.
After my race I watched the Viper slowly slink off into the night. Too bad. I would have loved to have a Viper kill under my belt.
The 3rd gen Firebird told us we were too slow for him. He hammered the gas and lifted a wheel as he left. I learned later it was a 10 sec car. 383 on nitrous.
