Spanked a Vette

Im home on leave back in Maine and im cruisin around in my Grand National when i stop next to a LT1 Corvette at a light. At first i really didnt think anything of it untill he took off like a bat out of hell. So at the next light i pulled up and gave him the nod. i brake boost to about 5 lbs and waited. the light turned green and i pulled a quick 2 cars on him and kept pulling. i pulled into the nearby GMC dealership to look at some trucks and he followed me in. He told me he had a mild cam/headers/intake/exhaust....going down to the track to meet him sunday to race him again. I think he lied about the cam...wasnt lopy at all....was loud as hell though so i dont doubt the headers and exhaust.

it could have been a hotcam. not sure if they sound lopey or not but they are considered "mild" for an LT1.

Hotcams usually lope half decent for how small they are. I think their usually ground on a 110 LSA.

There are a few cams out there though for LT1's that practically idle as smooth as stock.

You can build boost on the line, and then just hold it? Do you have a trans brake?

If I brake-torque at the line and let it build any positive boost at all, it immediately swings to 18psi and annihilates the rear tires.
