03 mach1 5spd vs 1bad95z

Saw a nice black mach1 on the eway thought why not.... I should be able to keep up crappy cell phone video but youll see i give him the go ahead wave and kept mine in over drive. I was giggling like a lil school girl when i saw his headlights. We got off at the same exit and he said it was a stock 03 and he wasnt too happy but gave me the thumbs up and "thats a bad *** car"

Hmmm, I wouldn't have guessed that an LT1 with full exhaust and a few bolt ons would walk a Mach 1.

Nice job.

Why? According to his sig. he's got a 300hp 'vette engine with longtubes and a bunch of small mods against a stock 305 hp car. He should have the upper hand in that race.

When you describe it that way, it makes more sense. I glossed over the "300hp Vette engine" part for some reason (probably because it was a factory rating, which we all know is only loosely coupled to the truth) and just saw that he had an LT1 with 4-bolt mains and a couple of mods.

Mach 1s are a good match for an LS1, and I am under the impression that it takes a bit more than his list of mods to make an LT1 match an LS1.

Maybe the "300hp Vette engine" is more different from the F-body LT1 than I realize.

with all the little things i have done right now i can keep up with my buddies ls1 that we built with a ms4 cam, longtubes, slp loud mouth, slp intake m6,ect ect. From a roll of course.300 hp + bolt ons I should be right around 340-350 at the crank.I'm turnin mid 13's right now with launching issues, never the less it was a fun race and good feeling knowing how much he paid and how much i paid

From my research, there is no difference between an F-body and a vette LT1. The power rating comes from a few things:

1. The exhaust on a vette is a true dual setup.
2. The intake track is straighter in the vette.
3. The general can't have a car that has the same or a higher HP rating than the vette.

I have no problem believing his story. I've never had a problem with a stock or mildly modded Mach 1...

This is hard to believe. That ls1 should turn mid to low 12s easy; the ls1 should put bus lengths on you unless something is wrong. You are 300hp + bolton's and the ls1 is 345hp + cam and bolton's.

Since when is a ls1 345 hp in a camaro?!?!?!???? In 1998 the z28 was rated at 305hp,where the ss had 320...2001 they upped the power rating to 315 z28 and 325 ss.You should probably do a little research before you post
As far as bull ****, it may be a crappy video but i clearly beat him.

I did research and many say they were underrated from the factory. Many say they actually put out 345hp. He should have 390rwhp+ He should run low 12s easy 11s with traction.

This guy made 404wrhp with bolton's and ms4http://videos.streetfire.net/video/2...MS4_140706.htm That is a lot more than your 350 crank.

Many will say they were underrated and im not saying he isnt faster than me,one key thing you are not noticing is did i mention if he was tuned? no.I did all the work on the ls1 and my friend and i have raced probably 20 times on the eway.My car will clearly keep up with his right now.Its not like im getting on here and trying to bull **** anyone.I've got a pretty much stock car with a few bolt ons and a amazing paint job.didnt claim to have the fastest car out there.Just thought Id share a vid of it beating a mustang since im on a "camaro" forum. Also Its a z28 not an ss so your video doesnt show me anything.

SS and z28 are same motor with exception to ram air that does not do much on a dyno when the car is not moving. He really does need a tune with that large of a cam the tune will really wake it up. He cant even get into the cams top rpm because of the stock rev limiter. You guys should both get a madz28.com tune, the tune helped my car out even when it was stock. On your mustang kill though I believe its possible your lt1 pulled the mach1; I ran into one in my grand prix gt and lost by only a car length from light to light. My grand prix is a 3.8L not supercharged with exhaust, msd wires, and a Cold air intake.
