My times are also not indicative of most GS4s... go over to the Altima forums and ask if a stock auto Altima will usually take a stock GS4 and even they will tell ya.

Doesn't really matter to me though.

They would tell me what, that since most of them ran mid 14s stock and your car ran a tad slower than that, what...

And what ET IS indicative of a stock GS400 stock???

Don't worry about him, Jon. He is die hard for the GS400 even going so far as to exaggerate it's performance. Remember last week how his GS400 would "leave a Z28 in the dust" past 100 mph? Enough said. We all know which car is better for the $$ anyway.

Come on guys, get a life. Steve... stop beating this topic to death and taking it out of context every damn time.

Z28 better for the money than a GS4? Uh... that's about as apples to oranges as you can possibly get. 4-door Lexus vs a 2-door Chevy?

COMNBYU, I never once mentioned my GS4... you were the one that brought it up... so don't act all high and mighty. Ask anyone here, I'm a big fan of Nissan. BIG fan. I pride myself on being unbiased in all regards.

I'm not going to go round and round about this for the next 20 threads. The first time I ever ran any car at a track in my life my GS4 ran a 14.795 on the same track same night where LS1s were running low-high 14s and SRT4s were running mid 14s to low 15s. It's apparently a crappy track or a crappy night we had here.

On clublexus.com GS4s tend to see anywhere from 13.7 to 14.4 @ 98-102

Anyhow... I'm sick of arguing about this.

Like I said... go ask your buddies on the Altima forums (not the die-hard ones that try and talk about walking 03 Cobras and such) about your average A4 Altima vs your average A5 GS4.

I've been over to my350Z.com and even they are very reluctant to get in a quarrel with a GS4.

Anyhow... I'm not wasting anymore time on this subject. If you'd like to find an A4 Altima driver in my area for me to run with I'd be happy to... same with an A4 LT1 Z28 lightly modded. Otherwise STFU. I've owned the Z28 and the GS4 and extensively driven the Altima and owned a Maxima. I'd dare say I've got pretty good balanced perspective on this. Where's y'all's resume again? Oh yeah.

THREXX-

No need to get your panties in a tangle. I think it sounds as if you have a denial issue. Your car isn't as fast as you would have everyone to believe and you can't stand it. Your car has an ET of 14.7x so far, get over it. Coulda, shoulda, wouldas don't mean poop to me. I'd have to see a 13.7 in person to believe that.

Where's MY resume? Check the sig genious.

No, I haven't driven a GS4, nor do I care to. Care to get someone in the VA. Richmond area to run me in my Alty? Didn't think so.

Your tired of arguing? What's there to argue over? Your cars not that fast, as your timeslip showed. I think everyone agreed with you on that before you even ran it. No argument here...

Panties in a tangle? You've been arguing and ultra-defensive with absolutely everyone in this thread about your Altima. I come in and say the 5-speed manuals have a brutal first gear and after that I wasn't nearly as impressed.

You were the one that got ultra defensive and started bring my car into the arguement as some sort of consolance for you.

You sound like a woman on PMS... it apparently takes very little to set you off with your precious car.

If you really want to make things personal and talk about my 3 tenths of a second slower time then... as you punch that accelerator and enjoy your 3 tenths of a second faster speed over *my* GS4 at *my* local track, have fun with your substandard build quality.

I'm outta this thread. I don't like pointless bickering when everyone's cards are already on the table.

The Merriam Webster Dictionary-

DENIAL - n 1: rejection of a request 2: REFUSAL TO ADMIT THE TRUTH OF A STATEMENT OR CHARGE; also : ASSERTATION THAT SOMETHING ALLEGED IS FALSE.

The first step to recovery THREXX, is admiting denial...

I was comparing the GS400 to the Altima! The Altima is a way better car for the $$ than a GS400. Just because your car runs 14.7 at 95.xx don't get pissy. It's slow and expensive, get over it.

Come on now Jon, bow down to the 14.7 second GS400!

#1- this whole time I've been saying I'm disappointed in my car. I might try a different track or maybe learn how to drive it better.

#2- I agree, the Altima is a better car for the dollar... you'll have about 3 times as many quality/reliability issues with the Altima, the Altima will ride like a toy car compared to the GS4 (that quote from my best friend who has an 02 Altima, not mine), you don't get quite the safety or feature content of the GS4 either.

But when the Altima is $24,000 and the GS4 is around $50k, none of that matters unless you have money to burn.

Fortunately I bought my GS4 w/ 30k miles for just a few thousand more than a new Altima. So none of that matters. And here a year and 20k miles later I've actually had my car depreciate far less as well. Different strokes for different folks

Consumer reports tracks that kind of stuff. I bet they are within 10-20% of each other as far as quality/reliability issues, and that is comparing same year and mileage cars. If you compare a brand new Altima and a 4 year old GS400 with 40K miles on it, I bet the Altima has less problems than the GS400 for the next 150K miles. This would be comparing same price cars. I hope the GS400 rides better and is nicer overall for that kind of coin. You are right about the different strokes for different folks, though.

I can't believe those times for all those cars at the track you went to! There has to be something wrong. Maybe the track really is uphill, longer than 1320 feet or the timers were off that night.

So 2 times you said you were out of this thread and came back? I thought that with your lounge experience you would know better than to fall into the winless argument trap Kyle.
