race with an rx7

well the weather was pretty good here in richmond. over the weekend high 70s, and the roads were pretty warm which is good for me because with my ****ty tires i always have traction issues. i take an automotive tech. class at school and there is a guy in my class that is all about imports. hes always telling me that his friend with a stock rx7 will rape me. and i just keep my mouth shut because i didnt really know. well friday night after work i got a call from my friend with a 97z28 a4 w/ magnaflow and 3.73's. he says that the guy with the rx7 wants to race both of us tonight and to come with thick pockets. well i don't race for money but met up with him anyways. we decided to go to a new addition to the interstate. we stopped after the ramp, he beeped 3 times, and we went. suprisingly he wasnt winning. i was pulling on him! well by the time we hit 100 i had about 3-4 cars on him. so riding back to town, he pulls up to me at a 65 i drop it in third and wait for him to go. he takes off and between 65-100 i pulled about a car and 1/2 on him. i was happy because everyone in my class thinks his car is like the god of all cars around here. it is the newest body style rx7 called an r6 and he says that its stock. afterwards, he looked like the saddest person i have ever seen. it was one of the only races i am really proud about.

Rarely does anyone post stuff like that in the kills section. Ego and testosterone seem to blur honest self-appraisals of that kind. But it's the key to keeping/winning money when money's on the line (or even if it's just for bragging rights). There's always somebody faster. Unless you are pretty sure you have them easily covered, don't run for money or talk trash. Always be the "stealth bomber." Never let them see you coming. Let THEM do the bragging and trash talking. The more the better. And the sweeter it is when you see them fade in the rearview. And if they win, so what? You didn't mouth off or lose money so you don't have to eat crow afterwords.

Kudos on the kill.

Good kill. The Rx7's are pretty quick. 250 hp, 2900 lbs. Mid 13-w/stick....mid 14 with the auto. Do you what he had? There is no r6 though. R1 and R2 I believe.

Nice kill but I have never heard of an R6 third gen 7???

Sounds like a ricer with a little cash...love beating those guys lol

A stock third gen should be LS1 territory but anything can happen on the street....good kill and way to keep your mouth on the low Keep them guessing
